VEHICLE APPROACHING SPEAKER SWITCH INSPECTION

PROCEDURE


  1. INSPECT PATTERN SELECT SWITCH ASSEMBLY (VEHICLE APPROACHING SPEAKER SWITCH)

      Component without harness connected

      (Pattern Select Switch Assembly (Vehicle Approaching Speaker Switch))
      *b Indicator
      *c Illumination

      Vehicle approaching speaker switch Inspection


      1. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

        Standard Resistance
        Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
        6 (IG) - 14 (ECU) Switch on Below 1 Ω
        Switch off 10 kΩ or higher

        If the result is not as specified, replace the pattern select switch assembly (vehicle approaching speaker switch).

    2. Illumination Inspection


      1. Apply auxiliary battery voltage to the vehicle approaching speaker switch and check that the switch illuminates.

        OK
        Condition Specified Condition

        Auxiliary battery positive (+) → Terminal 13 (ILL+)

        Auxiliary battery negative (-) → Terminal 2 (ILL-)

        		 Illuminates

        If the result is not as specified, replace the pattern select switch assembly (vehicle approaching speaker switch).

    3. Indicator Inspection


      1. Apply auxiliary battery voltage to the vehicle approaching speaker switch and check that the indicator illuminates.

        OK
        Condition Specified Condition

        Auxiliary battery positive (+) → Terminal 6 (IG)

        Auxiliary battery negative (-) → Terminal 11 (IND)

        		 Illuminates

        If the result is not as specified, replace the pattern select switch assembly (vehicle approaching speaker switch).
