LIGHTING SYSTEM Daytime Running Light Circuit

DESCRIPTION

The No. 1 headlight ECU sub-assemblies control the daytime running lights.

Note


  • If the No. 1 headlight ECU sub-assembly LH has been replaced, it is necessary to synchronize the vehicle information and initialize the No. 1 headlight ECU sub-assembly LH.

PROCEDURE


  1. PERFORM ACTIVE TEST USING GTS


    1. Connect the GTS to the DLC3.

    2. Turn the power switch on (IG).

    3. Turn the GTS on.

    4. Enter the following menus: Body Electrical / HL AutoLeveling*1 or AHS*2 / Active Test.


      • *1: w/o Adaptive High Beam System

      • *2: w/ Adaptive High Beam System

    5. Perform the Active Test according to the display on the GTS.

  2. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (POWER SOURCE - FRONT TURN SIGNAL LIGHT ASSEMBLY LH)


    1. Disconnect the A21 front turn signal light assembly LH connector.

    2. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Voltage

      A21-3 (DRL) - Body ground Power switch on (IG) 11 to 14 V

  3. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (FRONT TURN SIGNAL LIGHT ASSEMBLY LH - BODY GROUND)


    1. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      A21-5 (E) - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω

  4. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (NO. 1 HEADLIGHT ECU SUB-ASSEMBLY LH - FRONT TURN SIGNAL LIGHT ASSEMBLY LH)


    1. Disconnect the A15 No. 1 headlight ECU sub-assembly LH connector.

    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      A15-8 (RLD2) - A21-4 (DRLC) Always Below 1 Ω
      A15-8 (RLD2) or A21-4 (DRLC) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

  5. INSPECT FRONT TURN SIGNAL LIGHT ASSEMBLY LH


    1. Remove the front turn signal light assembly LH.

    1. Disconnect the A12 front turn signal light assembly RH connector.

    2. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

    1. Disconnect the A16 No. 1 headlight ECU sub-assembly RH connector.

    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      A16-8 (RLD2) - A12-4 (DRLC) Always Below 1 Ω
      A16-8 (RLD2) or A12-4 (DRLC) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
