PROCEDURE


  1. CHECK SPEAKER (OPERATION CHECK)


    1. A003OFH

      Enter the "System Check Mode" screen. Refer to Check Speaker in Operation Check.

      Click here

    2. Perform the operation check above and determine the speaker that is not operating.

      Tech Tips

      If sound cannot be heard from any speaker, inspect all of them.

  2. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (STEREO COMPONENT AMPLIFIER ASSEMBLY - FRONT NO. 2 SPEAKER ASSEMBLY)


    1. Disconnect the I63 stereo component amplifier assembly connector.

    2. Disconnect the G5 and G7 front No. 2 speaker assembly connectors.

    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      I63-13 (TWR+) - G5-4 Always Below 1 Ω
      I63-28 (TWR-) - G5-3 Always Below 1 Ω
      I63-10 (TWL+) - G7-4 Always Below 1 Ω
      I63-25 (TWL-) - G7-3 Always Below 1 Ω
      I63-13 (TWR+) or G5-4 - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      I63-28 (TWR-) or G5-3 - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      I63-10 (TWL+) or G7-4 - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      I63-25 (TWL-) or G7-3 - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

  3. INSPECT FRONT NO. 2 SPEAKER ASSEMBLY


    1. Remove the front No. 2 speaker assembly.

    2. Inspect the front No. 2 speaker assembly.

      Click here

    3. Check that the malfunction disappears when a new or known good front No. 2 speaker assembly is installed.

      Malfunction disappears.

  4. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (STEREO COMPONENT AMPLIFIER ASSEMBLY - FRONT NO. 1 SPEAKER ASSEMBLY)


    1. Disconnect the I63 stereo component amplifier assembly connector.

    2. Disconnect the J1 and K1 front No. 1 speaker assembly connectors.

    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      I63-15 (FR+) - J1-1 Always Below 1 Ω
      I63-30 (FR-) - J1-2 Always Below 1 Ω
      I63-8 (FL+) - K1-1 Always Below 1 Ω
      I63-23 (FL-) - K1-2 Always Below 1 Ω
      I63-15 (FR+) or J1-1 - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      I63-30 (FR-) or J1-2 - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      I63-8 (FL+) or K1-1 - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

  5. INSPECT FRONT NO. 1 SPEAKER ASSEMBLY


    1. Remove the front No. 1 speaker assembly.

  6. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (STEREO COMPONENT AMPLIFIER ASSEMBLY - REAR SPEAKER ASSEMBLY)


    1. Disconnect the I63 stereo component amplifier assembly connector.

    2. Disconnect the L4 and M4 rear speaker assembly connectors.

    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      I63-11 (RR+) - L4-1 Always Below 1 Ω
      I63-26 (RR-) - L4-2 Always Below 1 Ω
      I63-12 (RL+) - M4-1 Always Below 1 Ω
      I63-27 (RL-) - M4-2 Always Below 1 Ω
      I63-11 (RR+) or L4-1 - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      I63-26 (RR-) or L4-2 - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      I63-12 (RL+) or M4-1 - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

  7. INSPECT REAR SPEAKER ASSEMBLY


    1. Remove the rear speaker assembly.
