POWER STEERING SYSTEM TC and CG Terminal Circuit

DESCRIPTION

Connecting terminals TC and CG of the DLC3 causes the ECU to display DTCs by blinking the EPS warning light.

Tech Tips

When the warning lights continue to blink, a ground short in the wiring of terminal TC of the DLC3 or an internal ground short in one or more ECUs is suspected.

    1. Check for DTCs.

  2. INSPECT DLC3

      Turn the power switch on (IG).

    2. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Voltage

      I31-13 (TC) - I31-4 (CG) Power switch on (IG) 9 to 16 V

  3. REPLACE HYBRID VEHICLE CONTROL ECU

      Turn the power switch off.

    2. Replace the hybrid vehicle control ECU.

      Click here

    3. Using SST, connect terminals TC and CG of the DLC3.

    4. Check that the EPS warning light is blinking.

  4. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (TC of DLC3 - HYBRID VEHICLE CONTROL ECU)


    1. Disconnect the I3 hybrid vehicle control ECU connector.

    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      I31-13 (TC) - I3-30 (TC) Always Below 1 Ω
      I31-13 (TC) or I3-30 (TC) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
