DESCRIPTION

Based on the steering sensor signal, the power steering ECU assembly determines if the correct type of steering sensor is installed.

  • Steering sensor (Spiral with cable sub-assembly) (incorrect part)

  • Power steering ECU assembly

 EPS warning light: Comes on The ECU judges the system has returned to normal or the power switch is turned on (IG) again -

Note

If the power steering ECU assembly has been replaced, perform assist map writing, rotation angle sensor initialization and torque sensor zero point calibration.

    1. Check that the steering sensor complies with the specifications of the vehicle.

      Note

      When removing a related part to check it, be sure to follow the appropriate procedures and precautions.

      Tech Tips

      If DTC C1567 is output and parts have not been replaced, replace the power steering ECU assembly as it may have an internal malfunction.
