PARKING BRAKE PEDAL(for RHD) REMOVAL

PROCEDURE

1. LOOSEN NO. 1 WIRE ADJUSTING NUT

   
   

   1. 

      Loosen the No. 1 wire adjusting nut.

      Note

      If the No. 1 wire adjusting nut has been removed from the No. 1 parking brake cable assembly, replace the No. 1 wire adjusting nut with a new one.

2. REMOVE NO. 1 INSTRUMENT PANEL UNDER COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY

3. REMOVE REAR CONSOLE BOX ASSEMBLY (w/o Solar Charging System)

   Click here

4. INSTALL REAR CONSOLE BOX ASSEMBLY (w/ Solar Charging System)

   Click here

5. REMOVE LOWER CENTER INSTRUMENT CLUSTER FINISH PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY

   Click here

6. REMOVE FRONT NO. 2 CONSOLE BOX INSERT

   Click here

7. REMOVE PARKING BRAKE MOUNTING BRACKET

   Click here

8. REMOVE NO. 2 AIR DUCT

   Click here

9. SEPARATE NO. 1 PARKING BRAKE CABLE ASSEMBLY

   
   

   1. Turn back the front floor carpet assembly.

   2. 

      Remove the bolt and separate the No. 1 parking brake cable assembly.

10. SEPARATE PARKING BRAKE PEDAL ASSEMBLY

    
    

    1. 

       Disengage the 2 clamps.

    2. Disconnect the parking brake switch connector.

    3. 

       Bracket

       Remove the bolt and 2 nuts, and separate the parking brake pedal assembly from the vehicle body.

       Note

       Be careful not to deform the bracket of the instrument panel reinforcement assembly shown in the illustration.

11. REMOVE PARKING BRAKE PEDAL ASSEMBLY

    
    

    1. 

       Pull up the parking brake pedal assembly claw.

       Note

       Do not damage the No. 1 parking brake cable assembly.

    2. 

       Remove the No. 1 wire adjusting nut from the No. 1 parking brake cable assembly.

       Note

       If the No. 1 wire adjusting nut has been removed from the No. 1 parking brake cable assembly, replace the No. 1 wire adjusting nut with a new one.

    3. 

       Remove the clip from the No. 1 parking brake cable assembly.

    4. Remove the parking brake pedal assembly from the No. 1 parking brake cable assembly.
