PROCEDURE
INSTALL SHIFT CONTROL ACTUATOR ASSEMBLY
Clean and degrease the bolt holes of the hybrid vehicle transaxle assembly.

Apply adhesive to 2 or 3 threads on the ends of 2 new shift control actuator bolts.

| Toyota Genuine Adhesive 1324, Three Bond 1324 or equivalent |
Note
Make sure to install the 2 shift control actuator bolts immediately after applying adhesive to prevent foreign matter from attaching to them.
Using a 12 mm hexagon socket wrench, temporarily install the shift control actuator assembly to the hybrid vehicle transaxle assembly with the 2 shift control actuator bolts.
Note
Do not tap the shift control actuator assembly with a plastic hammer or similar tool when installing it.
Tech Tips
As the position of the shift control actuator assembly is detected automatically, initialization is not necessary after disconnecting and reconnecting the cable to the negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal.

Temporarily install the shift control actuator bolt.
Using a 12 mm hexagon socket wrench, tighten the 2 shift control actuator bolts.
Tighten the shift control actuator bolt.

Note
Make sure to install the 2 bolts immediately after applying adhesive to prevent foreign matter from attaching to them.
Install the 2 bolts to the 2 shift control actuator bolts.

Note
Tighten the bolts until the bolt heads break off.
Tech Tips
Breaking Torque: 4.9 to 8.8 N*m (50 to 90 kgf*cm, 43 to 78 in.*lbf)
Connect the shift control actuator assembly connector.
INSTALL NO. 1 ENGINE UNDER COVER ASSEMBLY
