SHIFT LEVER INSTALLATION

PROCEDURE

1. INSTALL SHIFT LOCK CONTROL UNIT ASSEMBLY

   
   

   1. Connect the shift lock control unit assembly connector.

   2. Install the shift lock control unit assembly to the No. 1 instrument panel brace sub-assembly and No. 2 instrument panel brace sub-assembly with the 3 nuts.

      Torque:

      12 N*m  { 122 kgf*cm, 9 ft.*lbf }

   3. Engage the clamp.

2. INSTALL NO. 2 LOWER INSTRUMENT PANEL FINISH PANEL

3. INSTALL SHIFTING HOLE COVER

4. INSTALL LOWER CENTER INSTRUMENT CLUSTER FINISH PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY

5. INSTALL LOWER NO. 1 INSTRUMENT PANEL AIRBAG ASSEMBLY

6. INSTALL LOWER INSTRUMENT PANEL FINISH PANEL ASSEMBLY

7. CONNECT HOOD LOCK CONTROL LEVER SUB-ASSEMBLY

8. INSTALL NO. 1 INSTRUMENT PANEL UNDER COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY

9. INSTALL COWL SIDE TRIM BOARD LH

   Click here

10. INSTALL FRONT DOOR SCUFF PLATE LH

    Click here

11. INSTALL INSTRUMENT CLUSTER FINISH PANEL GARNISH ASSEMBLY

12. INSTALL INSTRUMENT PANEL FINISH PANEL END LH

13. INSTALL REAR CONSOLE BOX ASSEMBLY

14. CONNECT CABLE TO NEGATIVE AUXILIARY BATTERY TERMINAL

    Note

    When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected.

15. INSPECT SHIFT LEVER

    
    

    1. Turn the power switch on (READY).

    2. Check that all shift positions can be selected by moving the shift lever.

       Tech Tips

       After the shift lock control unit assembly is replaced with a new one, perform the above operation. If this operation is not performed, moving the shift lever may not initially select shift positions.
