HYBRID TRANSAXLE OIL SEAL REPLACEMENT

CAUTION / NOTICE / HINT

The necessary procedures (adjustment, calibration, initialization, or registration) that must be performed after parts are removed and installed, or replaced during front drive shaft oil seal LH or front drive shaft oil seal RH removal/installation are shown below.

Front wheel alignment adjustment

  1. Clear zero point calibration data.

  2. Perform yaw rate and acceleration sensor zero point calibration.

  • DTCs are stored

  • ABS warning light illuminates

  • Brake warning light / yellow (minor malfunction) illuminates

  • Slip indicator light illuminates

  • VSC disabled or malfunctions

  1. REMOVE FRONT DRIVE SHAFT ASSEMBLY

  2. REMOVE FRONT DRIVE SHAFT OIL SEAL LH


    1. A003KG0N02

      Using SST, remove the front drive shaft oil seal LH from the hybrid vehicle transaxle assembly.

      Note

      Be careful not to damage the hybrid vehicle transaxle assembly.

  3. REMOVE FRONT DRIVE SHAFT OIL SEAL RH


    1. A003OO0N02

      Using SST, remove the front drive shaft oil seal RH from the hybrid vehicle transaxle assembly.

      Note

      Be careful not to damage the hybrid vehicle transaxle assembly.

  4. INSTALL FRONT DRIVE SHAFT OIL SEAL RH


    1. A003OBPC02
      *a Depth

      Using SST and a hammer, install a new front drive shaft oil seal RH to the hybrid vehicle transaxle assembly.

      Standard Depth
      -0.5 to 0.5 mm (-0.0197 to 0.0197 in.)

      Note


      • Do not allow foreign matter to attach to the lip of the front drive shaft oil seal RH.

      • Do not install the front drive shaft oil seal RH at an angle.

    2. Coat the lip of the front drive shaft oil seal RH with a small amount of MP grease.

  5. INSTALL FRONT DRIVE SHAFT OIL SEAL LH


    1. A003OFNC02
      *a Depth

      Using SST and a hammer, install a new front drive shaft oil seal LH to the hybrid vehicle transaxle assembly.

      Standard Depth
      -0.5 to 0.5 mm (-0.0197 to 0.0197 in.)

      Note


      • Do not allow foreign matter to attach to the lip of the front drive shaft oil seal LH.

      • Do not install the front drive shaft oil seal LH at an angle.

    2. Coat the lip of the front drive shaft oil seal LH with a small amount of MP grease.
