HYBRID CONTROL SYSTEM Pattern Select Switch EV City Mode Circuit

DESCRIPTION

When a sufficient amount of electricity for EV driving is remaining in the HV battery, the operation mode can be switched to EV City mode.

EV City mode limits motor output and minimizes the operation of the gasoline engine. Therefore, the vehicle can be driven with only electric motor in city areas, etc.

When in EV City mode, the "EV CITY" indicator illuminates.

PROCEDURE


  1. ASK ABOUT VEHICLE CONDITION


    1. Check if a buzzer sounded and a message was displayed on the multi-information display when operating the EV City mode switch (pattern select switch assembly).

      If a buzzer sounds and a message is displayed on the multi-information display, the EV City mode entry conditions have not been met.

  2. READ VALUE USING GTS (CAN BUS CHECK)


    1. Connect the GTS to the DLC3.

    2. Turn the power switch on (IG).

    3. Turn the GTS on.

    4. Enter the following menus: System Select / CAN Bus Check.

    1. Connect the GTS to the DLC3.

    2. Turn the power switch on (IG).

    3. Turn the GTS on.

    4. Enter the following menus: System Select / Health Check.

    5. Check for DTCs.

  4. READ VALUE USING GTS (EVMS SIGNAL STATUS, EV MODE STATUS)


    1. Connect the GTS to the DLC3.

    2. Turn the power switch on (IG).

    3. Turn the GTS on.

    4. Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Hybrid Control / Data List / EVMS Signal Status, EV Mode Status.

    5. Read the value displayed on the GTS.
