DESCRIPTION

The hybrid vehicle control ECU receives signals from the P position switch and shift lever and operates the shift control actuator assembly through current control to engage and release the parking lock. If the actual shift state and requested shift state do not match, the hybrid vehicle control ECU detects the malfunction and stores this DTC.

Tech Tips

After repair has been completed, clear the DTC and then check that the vehicle has returned to normal by performing the following All Readiness check procedure.

  1. Connect the GTS to the DLC3.

  2. Turn the power switch on (IG) and turn the GTS on.

  3. Clear the DTCs (even if no DTCs are stored, perform the clear DTC procedure).

  4. Turn the power switch off and wait for 2 minutes or more.

  5. Turn the power switch on (IG) and turn the GTS on.

  6. Depress the brake pedal and move the shift lever to select neutral (N) and wait for 5 seconds or more.

  7. Push the P position switch (transmission shift main switch).

  8. Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Hybrid Control / Utility / All Readiness.

  9. Check the DTC judgment result.

    Tech Tips


    • If the judgment result shows NORMAL, the system is normal.

    • If the judgment result shows ABNORMAL, the system has a malfunction.

    • If the judgment result shows INCOMPLETE or N/A, perform driving pattern again.

PROCEDURE


  1. CHECK DTC OUTPUT (HYBRID CONTROL)


    1. Connect the GTS to the DLC3.

    2. Turn the power switch on (IG).

    3. Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Hybrid Control / Trouble Codes.

    4. Check if DTCs are output.


      Powertrain > Hybrid Control > Trouble Codes

  2. CHECK FREEZE FRAME DATA (HYBRID CONTROL)


    1. Connect the GTS to the DLC3.

    2. Release the brake pedal and turn the power switch on (IG).

      Tech Tips

      Do not turn the power switch on (READY).

    3. Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Hybrid Control / Trouble Codes.

    4. Read the freeze frame data of DTC P272C81.


      Powertrain > Hybrid Control > Trouble Codes
      Powertrain > Hybrid Control
      Tester Display
      BATT Voltage for Transmission Control System
      Result
      Result Proceed to
      BATT Voltage for Transmission Control System is 9 V or more. A
      BATT Voltage for Transmission Control System is less than 9 V. B

    5. Turn the power switch off.

    REPLACE AUXILIARY BATTERY Click here

  3. CLEAR DTC


    1. Connect the GTS to the DLC3.

    2. Turn the power switch on (IG).

    3. Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Hybrid Control / Trouble Codes.

    4. Read and record the DTCs and freeze frame data.


      Powertrain > Hybrid Control > Trouble Codes

    5. Clear the DTCs.


      Powertrain > Hybrid Control > Clear DTCs

    6. Disconnect the GTS from the DLC3.

    7. Turn the power switch off.

    8. Leave the vehicle as is for 60 seconds or more.

      Note


      • Do not connect the GTS.

      • Do not depress brake pedal.

      • Do not open/close any of the doors.

    9. Check for DTCs again.

    1. Charge the auxiliary battery.

    2. Release the brake pedal and turn the power switch on (IG).

    4. Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Hybrid Control / Trouble Codes.

    5. Check if DTCs are output.


      Powertrain > Hybrid Control > Trouble Codes

    6. Turn the power switch off.
