  • The procedure listed below is for the LHD vehicles.

  • Use the same procedure for the RH and LH sides.

  • The procedure listed below is for the LH side.

  • A bolt without a torque specification is shown in the standard bolt chart.

PROCEDURE


  1. INSTALL HOLE PLUG


    1. A01MHP8

      Install the 2 hole plugs.

  2. INSTALL REAR DOOR PANEL CUSHION


    1. A01MJOL

      Engage the claw to install a new rear door panel cushion.

  3. INSTALL NO. 3 REAR DOOR WEATHERSTRIP


    1. A01MGHTC02
      B000ZUW Double-side tape

      Engage the guide to temporary install a new No. 3 rear door weatherstrip.

    2. Remove the release paper.

    3. Press the double-side tape area of the rear door weatherstrip.

  4. INSTALL NO. 2 REAR DOOR WEATHERSTRIP


    1. A01MHKQ

      Engage the clips to install the rear door weatherstrip.

  5. INSTALL REAR DOOR UPPER OUTSIDE STRIPE

  12. INSTALL REAR DOOR WEATHERSTRIP


    1. Clean vehicle installation surface.

    2. A01MIOOC01
      B000ZUW Double-side Tape

      Engage the clips to install a new rear door weatherstrip.

    3. Remove the release paper.

    4. Press the double-side tape area of the rear door weatherstrip.

    5. Install the 2 clips.

  13. INSTALL REAR DOOR CHECK ASSEMBLY


    1. Apply MP grease to the sliding areas of the rear door check assembly.

    2. Clean the bolt hole on the vehicle body.

    3. Clean the threads of the bolt.

    4. Apply adhesive to the threads of the bolt.

      Adhesive
      Toyota Genuine Adhesive 1324, Three Bond 1324 or equivalent.
    5. A01MIVF

      Install the rear door check assembly with the 2 nuts and bolt.

      Torque:
      Bolt
      27 N*m  { 275 kgf*cm, 20 ft.*lbf }
      Nut
      8.0 N*m  { 82 kgf*cm, 71 in.*lbf }

  14. INSTALL REAR DOOR OUTSIDE HANDLE FRAME SUB-ASSEMBLY


    1. Apply MP grease to sliding areas of the rear door outside handle frame sub-assembly.

      Engage the grommet and guides to install the rear door outside handle frame sub-assembly as shown in the illustration.

    3. Using a T30 "TORX" socket wrench, install the screw.

      Torque:
      4.0 N*m  { 41 kgf*cm, 35 in.*lbf }

  15. INSTALL REAR DOOR REAR OUTSIDE HANDLE PAD

      Engage the claws to install the rear door rear outside handle pad.

  16. INSTALL REAR DOOR FRONT OUTSIDE HANDLE PAD

      Engage the claws to install the rear door front outside handle pad.

  17. INSTALL REAR DOOR OUTSIDE HANDLE ASSEMBLY

      Install the rear door outside handle assembly as shown in the illustration.

  18. INSTALL REAR DOOR OUTSIDE HANDLE COVER


    1. A01MGFWC01
      B006JFV Install in this Direction

      Engage the claws to install the rear door outside handle cover as shown in the illustration.

    2. Using a T30 "TORX" socket wrench, install the screw.

      Torque:
      4.0 N*m  { 41 kgf*cm, 35 in.*lbf }

  19. INSTALL REAR DOOR LOCK ASSEMBLY

  20. INSTALL REAR DOOR REAR GUIDE SEAL

      B006JFV Install in this Direction

      Install the rear door rear guide seal as shown in the illustration.

    2. Raise up the rear door weatherstrip and then install the 2 screws.

    3. Install the screw.

    4. Engage the rear door weatherstrip.

  21. INSTALL REAR DOOR CUSHION


    1. Clean vehicle installation surface.

    2. Remove the release paper.

      B000ZUW Double-side Tape

      Install a new rear door cushion with the 2 bolts.

    4. Press the double-side tape area of the rear door cushion.

  22. INSTALL REAR DOOR WINDOW REGULATOR SUB-ASSEMBLY


    1. Apply MP grease to the sliding areas of the rear door window regulator sub-assembly.

      *a Temporary Bolt

      Temporarily install the temporary bolt to the rear door regulator sub-assembly.

    3. Temporarily install the rear door window regulator sub-assembly.

    4. Tighten the temporary bolt and 5 bolts to install the rear door window regulator sub-assembly.

      Torque:
      8.0 N*m  { 82 kgf*cm, 71 in.*lbf }

    5. Connect the connector.

  23. INSTALL REAR DOOR GLASS SUB-ASSEMBLY

      B006JHL Install in this Direction (2)

      Insert the rear door glass sub-assembly into the rear door glass run as indicated by the arrows in the order shown in the illustration.

      Note

      Be careful not to damage the rear door glass sub-assembly.

    2. A01MHO7

      Install the rear door glass sub-assembly with the 2 bolts.

      Torque:
      5.5 N*m  { 56 kgf*cm, 49 in.*lbf }

  24. INSTALL REAR DOOR WINDOW REAR LOWER FRAME SUB-ASSEMBLY


    1. A01MI85

      Install the rear door window rear lower frame sub-assembly with the bolt.

      Torque:
      8.0 N*m  { 82 kgf*cm, 71 in.*lbf }

    2. Install the screw.

  25. INSTALL REAR DOOR FRAME GARNISH

      B006JHL Install in this Direction (2)

      Engage the guides to install the rear door frame garnish as shown in the illustration.

  26. INSTALL REAR DOOR GLASS RUN

      Install the rear door glass run as shown in the illustration.

  27. INSTALL REAR DOOR SERVICE HOLE COVER


    1. A01MIZ1C01
      *1 Butyl Tape
      *a Reference Point

      Apply new butyl tape to the rear door panel.

    2. Pass the rear door lock remote control cable assembly and rear door inside locking cable assembly through a new rear door service hole cover.

    3. Install the rear door service hole cover according to the reference points on the rear door panel.

      Note

      Securely install the rear door service hole cover preventing wrinkles and bubbles.

    4. Engage the clamps to install the wire harness.

      Install the rear door glass inner weatherstrip as shown in the illustration.

  30. INSTALL REAR DOOR WIRE

      Engage the clamp to install the rear door wire to the rear door trim board sub-assembly.

      Engage the guides to install the rear door lock remote control cable assembly and rear door inside locking cable assembly.

      Engage the clamps to install the rear door trim board sub-assembly as shown in the illustration.

      Engage the clips as shown in the illustration.

      Install the 3 screws.
