FRONT SEAT OUTER BELT ASSEMBLY INSTALLATION

Tech Tips


  • Use the same procedure for both the RH and LH side.

  • The procedure described below is for the LH side.

PROCEDURE


  1. INSTALL FRONT SEAT BELT RETRACTOR COVER


    1. A01MHLX

      Engage the guide to install the front seat belt retractor cover.

  2. INSTALL FRONT SHOULDER BELT ANCHOR PLATE SUB-ASSEMBLY


    1. A01MG65E01

      Engage the guide to temporarily install the front shoulder belt anchor plate sub-assembly with the 2 bolts.

    2. Tighten the 2 bolts in the order shown in the illustration.

      Torque:
      42 N*m  { 428 kgf*cm, 31 ft.*lbf }

  3. INSTALL FRONT SEAT OUTER BELT ASSEMBLY


    1. A01MFVIC03
      *a Unlock
      *b Lock
      *c 27°

      Before installing the front seat outer belt assembly, check the ELR function.


      1. When the inclination of the retractor is 12° or less, check that the belt can be pulled from the retractor. When the inclination of the retractor is over 27°, check that the belt locks.

        Note

        Do not disassemble the retractor.

    2. Engage the guides to install the front seat belt retractor cover.

    3. Install the bolt.

      Torque:
      12.5 N*m  { 127 kgf*cm, 9 ft.*lbf }

      *1 Locking Button

      Connect the pretensioner connector and lock the locking button as shown in the illustration.

      Note

      Securely lock the locking button.

    5. Connect the connector.

    6. Install the shoulder anchor of the front seat outer belt assembly with the nut.

      Torque:
      42 N*m  { 428 kgf*cm, 31 ft.*lbf }

    7. Install the front anchor of the front seat outer belt assembly with the bolt.

      Torque:
      42 N*m  { 428 kgf*cm, 31 ft.*lbf }

    8. Inspect ELR lock


      1. Check that when installed to the vehicle, pulling the belt out quickly will cause the belt to lock.

    9. Remove the bolt to separate the front anchor of the front seat outer belt assembly.

  4. INSTALL CENTER PILLAR GARNISH ASSEMBLY

  6. INSTALL REAR DOOR OPENING TRIM WEATHERSTRIP


    1. Install rear door opening trim weatherstrip.

  7. INSTALL FRONT DOOR OPENING TRIM WEATHERSTRIP


    1. Install the front door opening trim weatherstrip.

  8. CONNECT FRONT SEAT OUTER BELT ASSEMBLY

  10. INSTALL FRONT DOOR SCUFF PLATE

  11. INSTALL REAR DOOR SCUFF PLATE

  12. CONNECT CABLE TO NEGATIVE AUXILIARY BATTERY TERMINAL
