CENTER AIRBAG SENSOR ASSEMBLY INSTALLATION

  • Use the same procedure for RHD and LHD vehicles.

  • The procedure listed below is for LHD vehicles.

PROCEDURE


  1. INSTALL CENTER AIRBAG SENSOR ASSEMBLY


    1. Check that the power switch is off.

    2. Check that the cable is disconnected from the negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal.

      CAUTION:


      • A0026P6

        Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal to disable the SRS system.

      • A0026EN

        If this procedure is performed without disconnecting the cable from negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal, the airbag may deploy even if an impact is applied only to the airbag ECU assembly. Therefore, make sure that the cable from negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal is disconnected before performing this procedure.

    3. Install the airbag ECU assembly.

      Note

      If the airbag ECU assembly has been dropped, or there are any cracks, dents or other defects in the case or connector, replace the airbag ECU assembly with a new one.

    4. Install the 3 bolts.

      Torque:
      17.5 N*m  { 178 kgf*cm, 13 ft.*lbf }

      *1 Connector Lock Lever
      B006JFV Lock Direction

      Connect the airbag connector and push the connector lock to lock the airbag connector.

      Note

      Do not allow the water proof sheet to become pinched.

    6. Check that there is no looseness in the installation parts of the airbag ECU assembly.

  2. INSTALL COOLER BLOWER ASSEMBLY

  3. CONNECT CABLE TO NEGATIVE AUXILIARY BATTERY TERMINAL


    1. Connect the cable to the negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal.

  4. INSTALL LUGGAGE TRIM SERVICE HOLE COVER

  5. PERFORM DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM CHECK

  6. INSPECT SRS WARNING LIGHT

    Tech Tips

    Perform an on-vehicle inspection of the FC stack assembly only if the vehicle has been subjected to a strong impact.
