KNEE AIRBAG ASSEMBLY INSTALLATION

PROCEDURE


  1. INSTALL LOWER NO. 1 INSTRUMENT PANEL AIRBAG ASSEMBLY


    1. Check the power switch is off.

    2. Check that the cable is disconnected from the negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal.

      CAUTION:


      • Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal to disable the SRS system.

      • If the airbag deploys for any reason, it may cause a serious accident.

      *1 Locking Button

      Connect the airbag connector.

    4. Push in the locking button to the lower No. 1 instrument panel airbag assembly.

      Note

      Securely lock the locking button.


      1. Engage the claw to connect the DLC3 connector.

      Engage the hooks to install the lower No. 1 instrument panel airbag assembly as shown in the illustration.

    6. Install the 4 bolts.

      Torque:
      10 N*m  { 102 kgf*cm, 7 ft.*lbf }

  2. INSTALL INSTRUMENT PANEL LOWER FINISH PANEL

  3. CONNECT CABLE TO NEGATIVE AUXILIARY BATTERY TERMINAL


    1. Connect the cable to the negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal.
