STEERING PAD INSTALLATION

PROCEDURE


  1. INSTALL HORN BUTTON ASSEMBLY


    1. Check that the power switch off.

    2. Check that the cable is disconnected from the negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal.

      CAUTION:

      Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal to disable the SRS system.

      Engage the clamp.

      Connect the 2 airbag connectors.

      Note


      • Be sure to only connect the connectors to each corresponding color.

      • Securely lock the locking button.

      • Do not damage the airbag wire harness when connecting the airbag connector.

    5. Connect the horn terminal.

    6. Set the horn button assembly to the steering wheel assembly.

    7. Check that the airbag wire harness and horn wire harness are not pinched.

      Push the horn button assembly with both hands, and engage the 2 upper side pins.

      Push the horn button assembly with both hands, and engage the metal hook to install the horn button assembly.

      Note

      After installation, try to pull the horn button assembly and check that the horn button assembly is securely installed.

  2. CONNECT CABLE TO NEGATIVE AUXILIARY BATTERY TERMINAL


    1. Connect the cable to the negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal.

    Tech Tips

    Perform an on-vehicle inspection of the FC stack assembly only if the vehicle has been subjected to a strong impact.
