LIGHT CONTROL RHEOSTAT INSPECTION

PROCEDURE


  1. INSPECT LIGHT CONTROL RHEOSTAT

      Component without harness connected

      (Light Control Rheostat)

      Inspect light control rheostat switch


      1. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

        Standard Resistance
        Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
        2 (DOWN) - 4 (E) Light control rheostat (DOWN)OFF → ON 10 kΩ or higher → Below 1 Ω
        3 (UP) - 4 (E) Light control rheostat (UP)OFF → ON 10 kΩ or higher → Below 1 Ω

        If the result is not as specified, replace the light control rheostat.

    2. Check the illumination operation


      1. Apply auxiliary battery voltage to the trip switch and check that it illuminates.

        OK
        Condition Specified Condition

        Auxiliary battery positive (+) → 5 (ILL+)

        Auxiliary battery positive (-) → 1 (ILL-)

        		 The illumination comes on

        If the result is not as specified, replace the light control rheostat.
