DESCRIPTION

The main body ECU (multiplex network body ECU) controls the operation of the following lights:

  • Inspect the fuses and lights for circuits related to this system before performing the following procedure.

  • Before replacing the main ECU (multiplex network body ECU), refer to Service Bulletin.

Tech Tips

The DOME CUT relay supplies power to the interior lights. If all the lights that use power from the DOME CUT relay do not turn on, check the interior light auto cut circuit first.

PROCEDURE


  1. PERFORM ACTIVE TEST USING GTS


    1. Connect the GTS to the DLC3.

    2. Turn the power switch on (IG).

    3. Turn the GTS on.

    4. Enter the following menus: Body Electrical / Main Body / Active Test.

    5. Perform the Active Test according to the display on the GTS.


      Body Electrical > Main Body > Active Test
      Tester Display Measurement Item Control Range Diagnostic Note
      Illuminated Entry System Map light assembly (Dome light) ON or OFF Perform the Active Test with door switch in the map light assembly turned on.
      Rear personal light No. 1 room light assembly ON or OFF Perform the Active Test with door switch in the map light assembly turned on.

      Body Electrical > Main Body > Active Test

  2. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (NO. 1 ROOM LIGHT ASSEMBLY - INSTRUMENT PANEL JUNCTION BLOCK ASSEMBLY)


    1. Remove the instrument panel junction block assembly.

    2. Disconnect the instrument panel junction block assembly connector.

      Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

  3. INSPECT INSTRUMENT PANEL JUNCTION BLOCK ASSEMBLY


    1. Remove the instrument panel junction block assembly.

    2. Remove the main body ECU (multiplex network body ECU) from the instrument panel junction block assembly.

    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

  5. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (MAP LIGHT ASSEMBLY - MAIN BODY ECU (MULTIPLEX NETWORK BODY ECU) AND BODY GROUND)


    1. Disconnect the W8 map light assembly connector.

    2. Disconnect the G5 main body ECU (multiplex network body ECU) connector.

    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      W8-3 (CTY) - G5-4 (MILE) Always Below 1 Ω
      W8-3 (CTY) or G5-4 (MILE) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
