REAR VIEW MONITOR SYSTEM SYSTEM DESCRIPTION


  1. GENERAL


    1. To assist the driver with parking the vehicle by displaying an image of the area behind the vehicle, this system has a television camera assembly mounted on the back door. The system displays the image on the multi-display.

    2. The rear view monitor system consists of the following components:


      1. Television camera assembly

      2. EV control ECU

      3. Navigation receiver assembly

  2. FUNCTION OF COMPONENTS

    Item Function
    Television Camera Assembly
    • Mounted on the back door to transmit an image of the area behind the vehicle to the navigation receiver assembly.

    • Has a color video camera that uses a Complementary Metal Oxide Semiconductor (CMOS) and a wide-angle lens.

    Navigation Receiver Assembly
    • Receives video signals, which contain an image of the area behind the vehicle taken with the television camera assembly.

    • Performs control of the system by receiving the reverse signal from the BACK UP LP relay.

    EV Control ECU Receives the reverse signal from the park/neutral position switch assembly and transmits it to the navigation receiver assembly.
  3. OPERATION EXPLANATION


    1. The navigation receiver assembly receives the reverse signal when the ignition switch is turned to ON and the shift lever is moved to R. After receiving the reverse signal, the navigation receiver assembly switches to the rear view monitor system.
