STEERING SYSTEM ON-VEHICLE INSPECTION

PROCEDURE

1. INSPECT STEERING WHEEL FREE PLAY

   
   

   1. Power switch on (READY) and make sure that the vehicle is in a state in which the power steering can operate.

   2. Stop the vehicle and align the front wheels facing straight ahead.

   3. Gently turn the steering wheel assembly right and left, and check for steering wheel assembly free play.

      Maximum Free Play
      30 mm (1.18 in.)

      If the free play exceeds the maximum, check the steering system.
