PARKING BRAKE CABLE INSTALLATION

PROCEDURE


  1. INSTALL NO. 3 PARKING BRAKE CABLE ASSEMBLY


    1. Install the No. 3 parking brake cable assembly to the body with the 6 bolts.

      Torque:
      6.0 N*m  { 61 kgf*cm, 53 in.*lbf }

    2. Install the No. 3 parking brake cable assembly to the parking brake plate sub-assembly with the bolt.

      Torque:
      8.0 N*m  { 82 kgf*cm, 71 in.*lbf }

    3. Install the No. 2 parking brake cable clamp to the No. 3 parking brake cable assembly.

    4. Install the No. 3 parking brake cable assembly to the body with the bolt.

      Torque:
      9.0 N*m  { 92 kgf*cm, 80 in.*lbf }

  2. INSTALL NO. 2 PARKING BRAKE CABLE ASSEMBLY

    Tech Tips

    Use the same procedure as for the No. 3 parking brake cable assembly.

  3. INSTALL CABLE SUPPORT BRACKET


    1. Install the cable support bracket to the body with the 3 nuts.

      Torque:
      14.5 N*m  { 148 kgf*cm, 11 ft.*lbf }

    2. Engage the 4 clamps to install the wire harness to the cable support bracket.

  4. INSTALL PARKING BRAKE EQUALIZER SUB-ASSEMBLY


    1. A01MIZ8

      Install the No. 3 parking brake cable assembly to the parking brake equalizer sub-assembly as shown in the illustration.

      Tech Tips

      Perform the same procedure as for the No. 2 parking brake cable assembly.

    2. Install the No. 2 parking brake cable assembly and No. 3 parking brake cable assembly to the cable support bracket with 2 new clips.

  5. INSTALL NO. 1 PARKING BRAKE CABLE ASSEMBLY


    1. Pass the No. 1 parking brake cable assembly through the parking brake control pedal assembly.

    2. Install the No. 1 parking brake cable assembly to the parking brake control pedal assembly with a new clip.

      Bend the parking brake control pedal assembly claw.

      Note

      Do not damage the No. 1 parking brake cable assembly.

    4. Temporarily install the No. 1 wire adjusting nut.

  6. INSTALL PARKING BRAKE CONTROL PEDAL ASSEMBLY (for LHD)

  8. INSTALL PARKING BRAKE SHOE LEVER LH

  9. INSTALL PARKING BRAKE SHOE LEVER RH

    Use the same procedure as for the LH side.
