PARKING BRAKE CABLE REMOVAL

PROCEDURE


  1. REMOVE EXHAUST PIPE ASSEMBLY

  2. REMOVE REAR SUSPENSION BRACE SUB-ASSEMBLY

    Click here

  3. SEPARATE PARKING BRAKE SHOE LEVER LH

    Click here

  4. SEPARATE PARKING BRAKE SHOE LEVER RH

    Tech Tips

    Use the same procedure as for the LH side.

  5. REMOVE PARKING BRAKE CONTROL PEDAL ASSEMBLY (for LHD)

  7. REMOVE NO. 1 PARKING BRAKE CABLE ASSEMBLY


    1. A01MGJO

      Remove the No. 1 wire adjusting nut from the No. 1 parking brake cable assembly.

    2. Pull up the parking brake control pedal assembly claw.

      Note

      Do not damage the No. 1 parking brake cable assembly.

    3. A01MI8R

      Remove the clip from the parking brake control pedal assembly.

    4. Remove the No. 1 parking brake cable assembly from the parking brake control pedal assembly.

  8. REMOVE PARKING BRAKE EQUALIZER SUB-ASSEMBLY


    1. A01MG36

      Remove the 2 clips to separate the No. 2 parking brake cable assembly and No. 3 parking brake cable assembly from the cable support bracket.

    2. A01MJ5V

      Remove the No. 3 parking brake cable assembly from the parking brake equalizer sub-assembly as shown in the illustration.

      Tech Tips

      Perform the same procedure as for the No. 2 parking brake cable assembly.

  9. REMOVE CABLE SUPPORT BRACKET


    1. A01MH2E

      Disengage the 4 clamps to separate the wire harness from the cable support bracket.

    2. Remove the 3 nuts and cable support bracket from the body.

  10. REMOVE NO. 3 PARKING BRAKE CABLE ASSEMBLY


    1. A01MG3X

      Remove the bolt to separate the No. 3 parking brake cable assembly from the body.

    2. A01MFIJ

      Remove the No. 2 parking brake cable clamp from the No. 3 parking brake cable assembly.

    3. A01MHEM

      Remove the bolt to separate the No. 3 parking brake cable assembly from the parking brake plate sub-assembly.

    4. Remove the 6 bolts and No. 3 parking brake cable assembly from the body.

  11. REMOVE NO. 2 PARKING BRAKE CABLE ASSEMBLY

    Tech Tips

    Perform the same procedure as for the No. 3 parking brake cable assembly.
