FRONT BRAKE REASSEMBLY

Tech Tips


  • Use the same procedure for the RH side and LH side.

  • The following procedure is for the LH side.

PROCEDURE


  1. TEMPORARILY TIGHTEN FRONT DISC BRAKE BLEEDER PLUG


    1. Install the front disc brake bleeder plug to the disc brake cylinder assembly.

      Tech Tips

      Fully tighten the front disc brake bleeder plug after bleeding the system.

  2. INSTALL FRONT DISC BRAKE BLEEDER PLUG CAP


    1. Install the front disc brake bleeder plug cap to the front disc brake bleeder plug.

  3. INSTALL PISTON SEAL

      B000ZUW Lithium Soap Base Glycol Grease

      Apply a light layer of lithium soap base glycol grease to the entire circumference of a new piston seal.

      *1 Piston Seal
      *2 Disc Brake Cylinder Assembly

      Install the piston seal to the disc brake cylinder assembly.

  4. INSTALL FRONT DISC BRAKE PISTON


    1. A01MJNZC02
      *1 Cylinder Boot
      *2 Front Disc Brake Piston
      B000ZUW Lithium Soap Base Glycol Grease

      Apply a light layer of lithium soap base glycol grease to the entire circumference of a new cylinder boot.

    2. Apply a light layer of lithium soap base glycol grease to the entire circumference of a front disc brake piston.

    3. A01MHDLC02
      *1 Cylinder Boot
      *2 Front Disc Brake Piston

      Install the cylinder boot to the front disc brake piston.

      Note

      Securely install the cylinder boot into the groove of the disc brake piston.

    4. Apply a light layer of lithium soap base glycol grease to the contact surfaces of the front disc brake piston, and install it to the disc brake cylinder assembly.

      Note

      Do not forcibly install the front disc brake piston into the disc brake cylinder assembly.

      *2 Set Ring
      *3 Disc Brake Cylinder Assembly
      *4 Front Disc Brake Piston
      *a Protective Tape

      Install the cylinder boot to the disc brake cylinder assembly.

      Note

      Securely install the cylinder boot into the groove of the front disc brake piston.

    6. Using a screwdriver with its tip wrapped with protective tape, install a new set ring.

      Note

      Be careful not to damage the cylinder boot.
