FRONT SPEED SENSOR INSTALLATION

Tech Tips


  • Use the same procedure for the LH side and RH side.

  • The following procedure is for the LH side.

  • The front speed sensor rotor is a component of the front axle hub sub-assembly. If the front speed sensor rotor is malfunctioning, replace the front axle hub sub-assembly.

PROCEDURE


  1. INSTALL FRONT SPEED SENSOR


    1. Install the front speed sensor to the steering knuckle with the bolt.

      Torque:
      8.5 N*m  { 87 kgf*cm, 75 in.*lbf }

      Note


      • Prevent foreign matter from adhering to the front speed sensor tip.

      • Firmly insert the front speed sensor body into the steering knuckle before tightening the bolt.

      • Do not twist the front speed sensor wire harness when installing it.

    2. Engage the clamp to the front shock absorber assembly.

      Install the front speed sensor clamp to the front shock absorber assembly and vehicle body with the 2 bolts.

      Torque:
      for Bolt A
      18.8 N*m  { 192 kgf*cm, 14 ft.*lbf }
      for Bolt B
      8.5 N*m  { 87 kgf*cm, 75 in.*lbf }

      Note

      Do not twist the wire harness for the sensor clamp when installing it.

    4. Engage the 2 clamps to install the front speed sensor to the vehicle body.

    5. Connect the connector.

      Note

      Do not twist the wire harness for the sensor clamp when installing it.

    6. Fold back the front fender splash shield sub-assembly.

  2. INSTALL FRONT FENDER SPLASH SHIELD SUB-ASSEMBLY


    1. Install the front fender splash shield sub-assembly with the 3 clips and 4 screws.

    2. Install a new grommet.

    3. Using a 4 mm hexagon socket wrench, install the 2 hexagon screws.

  3. INSTALL FRONT WHEEL
