The necessary procedures (adjustment, calibration, initialization, or registration) that must be performed after parts are removed, installed, or replaced during the front drive shaft assembly removal/installation are shown below.

Use the same procedure for the RH side and LH side.
The following procedure is for the LH side.
PROCEDURE
REMOVE FRONT WHEEL
REMOVE NO. 1 MOTOR UNDER COVER
DRAIN HYBRID TRANSAXLE FLUID
REMOVE FRONT AXLE SHAFT NUT
Using SST and a hammer, release the staked part of the front axle shaft nut.
Note
Fully loosen the staked part of the front axle shaft nut, otherwise the threads of the drive shaft may be damaged.
While applying the brakes, remove the front axle shaft nut.
SEPARATE FRONT SPEED SENSOR
Disengage the clamp and remove the bolt (A) and separate the front speed sensor.
Remove the bolt (B) and separate the front speed sensor.
Note
Prevent foreign matter from contacting the sensor tip.

SEPARATE TIE ROD END SUB-ASSEMBLY
SEPARATE FRONT LOWER NO. 1 SUSPENSION ARM SUB-ASSEMBLY
SEPARATE FRONT STABILIZER LINK ASSEMBLY
REMOVE FRONT DRIVE SHAFT ASSEMBLY

Put matchmarks on the front drive shaft assembly and front axle hub sub-assembly.
Using a plastic hammer, separate the front drive shaft assembly from the front axle assembly.
Note
Be careful not to damage the front axle outboard joint boot.
Do not push the front axle assembly towards the outside of the vehicle any further than necessary.
Tech Tips
If the parts are stuck and difficult to disengage, use a brass bar and a hammer to tap the tip of the front drive shaft assembly.
Using SST, remove the front drive shaft assembly from the FCV transaxle with motor assembly.
Note
Do not damage the front drive shaft oil seal.
Do not damage the front axle inboard joint boot.
Do not drop the front drive shaft assembly.
Tech Tips
Measure the size of the gap between the front drive inboard joint assembly and FCV transaxle with motor assembly, and use the measured value for reference when installing.
REMOVE FRONT DRIVE INBOARD JOINT HOLE SNAP RING
Using a screwdriver, remove the front drive inboard join hole snap ring from the front drive inboard joint assembly.
