SHIFT CONTROL ACTUATOR INSTALLATION

PROCEDURE


  1. INSTALL SHIFT CONTROL ACTUATOR SEAL

    Tech Tips

    Perform this procedure only when replacement of the shift control actuator seal is necessary.


    1. Coat the lip of a new shift control actuator seal with MP grease.

    2. A01MH4VC01
      *a Depth

      Using SST and a hammer, install the shift control actuator seal to the FCV transaxle with motor assembly.

      SST
      09820-00031
      Standard Depth
      8.5 to 9.8 mm (0.335 to 0.385 in.)

  2. INSTALL SHIFT CONTROL ACTUATOR ASSEMBLY


    1. A01MHVS

      Install the shift control actuator assembly to the FCV transaxle with motor assembly with 3 new shift control actuator bolts.

      Torque:
      9.5 N*m  { 97 kgf*cm, 84 in.*lbf }

      Note

      If dropped or subjected to a severe impact, replace it with a new one.

    2. A01MH51

      Install 3 new shift control actuator bolt caps to the 3 shift control actuator bolts.

      Note

      Push in each shift control actuator bolt cap firmly until the claw of the shift control actuator bolt cap engages with the shift control actuator bolt.

  3. INSTALL NO. 1 OIL COOLER TUBE CLAMP


    1. Install the No. 1 oil cooler tube clamp to the No. 2 automatic transmission case cover with the clip.

  4. INSTALL NO. 2 AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION CASE COVER


    1. Install the No. 2 automatic transmission case cover to the FCV transaxle with motor assembly with the 2 bolts and a new clip.

      Torque:
      11.8 N*m  { 120 kgf*cm, 9 ft.*lbf }

    2. Engage the 2 clamps to install the wire harness to the No. 2 automatic transmission case cover and No. 1 oil cooler tube clamp.

    3. Connect the 2 connectors.

  5. INSTALL NO. 2 OIL COOLER TUBE CLAMP


    1. Install the 2 No. 2 oil cooler tube clamps to the No. 1 oil cooler tube clamp with the 2 bolts.

      Torque:
      8.2 N*m  { 84 kgf*cm, 73 in.*lbf }

  6. INSTALL WIRE HARNESS CLAMP BRACKET


    1. Install the wire harness clamp bracket to the FCV transaxle with motor assembly with the bolt.

      Torque:
      17.5 N*m  { 178 kgf*cm, 13 ft.*lbf }

    2. Engage the 2 clamps to install the wire harness to the No. 2 automatic transmission case cover and wire harness clamp bracket.
