HYBRID TRANSAXLE OIL SEAL REPLACEMENT

The necessary procedures (adjustment, calibration, initialization, or registration) that must be performed after parts are removed, installed, or replaced during the front drive shaft oil seal removal/installation are shown below.

PROCEDURE


  1. REMOVE FRONT DRIVE SHAFT ASSEMBLY

  2. REMOVE FRONT DRIVE SHAFT OIL SEAL LH


    1. A01MJJNN01

      Using SST, remove the front drive shaft oil seal LH from the FCV transaxle with motor assembly.

      SST

      Note

      Do not damage the front drive shaft oil seal LH contact surface of the FCV transaxle with motor assembly.

  3. REMOVE FRONT DRIVE SHAFT OIL SEAL RH


    1. A01MJXAN01

      Using SST, remove the front drive shaft oil seal RH from the FCV transaxle with motor assembly.

      Note

      Do not damage the front drive shaft oil seal RH contact surface of the FCV transaxle with motor assembly.

  4. INSTALL FRONT DRIVE SHAFT OIL SEAL LH


    1. Coat the outside edge of a new front drive shaft oil seal LH with ATF.

    2. A01MHUDC01
      *a Depth

      Using SST and a hammer, install the front drive shaft oil seal LH to the FCV transaxle with motor assembly.

      Standard Depth
      -0.5 to 0.5 mm (-0.0196 to 0.0196 in.)

      Note


      • Make sure that the front drive shaft oil seal LH is installed in the correct direction.

      • Do not tap in the front drive shaft oil seal LH at an angle.

    3. Coat the lip of the front drive shaft oil seal LH with MP grease.

  5. INSTALL FRONT DRIVE SHAFT OIL SEAL RH


    1. Coat the outside edge of a new front drive shaft oil seal RH with ATF.

      *a Depth

      Using SST and a hammer, install the front drive shaft oil seal RH to the FCV transaxle with motor assembly.

      Standard Depth
      -0.5 to 0.5 mm (-0.0196 to 0.0196 in.)

      Note


      • Make sure that the front drive shaft oil seal RH is installed in the correct direction.

    3. Coat the lip of the front drive shaft oil seal RH with MP grease.
