ELECTRONIC SHIFT LEVER SYSTEM "P" Position Switch Indicator Light Circuit

DESCRIPTION

The indicator light comes on when the P position switch (integration control and panel assembly) is pressed (park (P) selected), goes off when a shift state other than park (P) is selected and goes off when a system malfunction occurs. Then an error message is displayed on the multi-information display.

WIRING DIAGRAM

PROCEDURE

1. CHECK P POSITION SWITCH (INTEGRATION CONTROL AND PANEL ASSEMBLY) (INDICATOR LIGHT)

   
   

   1. Turn the power switch on (IG).

   2. Depress the brake pedal and move the shift lever to select neutral (N).

   3. Inspect the indicator light condition by operating the P position switch (integration control and panel assembly).

      Result
      Condition of Indicator Light Proceed to Indicator light does not go off. (Remains on) A Indicator light does not come on. B

   4. Turn the power switch off.

2. CHECK P POSITION SWITCH (INTEGRATION CONTROL AND PANEL ASSEMBLY) (INDICATOR LIGHT)

   
   

   1. Disconnect the A25 transmission control ECU assembly connector.

   2. Turn the power switch on (IG).

   3. Inspect the indicator light condition by operating the P position switch (integration control and panel assembly).

      Result
      Condition of Indicator Light Proceed to Indicator light does not go off. (Remains on) A Indicator light goes off. B

      Note

      Turning the power switch on (IG) with the transmission control ECU assembly connector disconnected causes other DTCs to be stored. Clear the DTCs after performing this inspection.

   4. Turn the power switch off.

   5. Reconnect the A25 transmission control ECU assembly connector.

3. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (TRANSMISSION CONTROL ECU - P POSITION SWITCH (INTEGRATION CONTROL AND PANEL ASSEMBLY))

   
   

   1. Disconnect the transmission control ECU assembly connector.

   2. Disconnect the P position switch (integration control and panel assembly) connector.

   3. 

      *a	Front view of wire harness connector (to Transmission Control ECU Assembly)
      *b	Front view of wire harness connector (to P Position Switch (Integration Control and Panel Assembly))

      Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance
      Tester Connection Switch Condition Specified Condition A25-20 (IND) or G1-7 (IND-) - Body ground and other terminals Power switch off 10 kΩ or higher

   4. Reconnect the P position switch (integration control and panel assembly) connector.

   5. Reconnect the transmission control ECU assembly connector.

      Result
      Proceed to OK NG

4. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (P POSITION SWITCH (INTEGRATION CONTROL AND PANEL ASSEMBLY) POWER SOURCE CIRCUIT)

   
   

   1. Disconnect the P position switch (integration control and panel assembly) connector.

   2. 

      *a	Front view of wire harness connector (to P Position Switch (Integration Control and Panel Assembly))

      Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Voltage
      Tester Connection Switch Condition Specified Condition G1-6 (IND+) - Body ground Power switch off 9 to 14 V

   3. Reconnect the P position switch (integration control and panel assembly) connector.

      Result
      Proceed to OK NG

5. INSPECT P POSITION SWITCH (INTEGRATION CONTROL AND PANEL ASSEMBLY)

   
   

   1. Disconnect the G1 P position switch (integration control and panel assembly) connector.

   2. 

      *a	Component without harness connected (P Position Switch (Integration Control and Panel Assembly))

      Apply auxiliary battery voltage between terminals 6 (IND+) and 7 (IND-), and check the indicator light.

      Result
      Condition Specified Condition Auxiliary battery voltage applied between terminals 6 (IND+) and 7 (IND-) Comes on

      Tech Tips

      Terminals No. 1 and No. 8 on the component side connector are empty.

   3. Reconnect the P position switch (integration control and panel assembly) connector.

      Result
      Proceed to OK NG

6. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (TRANSMISSION CONTROL ECU - P POSITION SWITCH (INTEGRATION CONTROL AND PANEL ASSEMBLY))

   
   

   1. Disconnect connector from the transmission control ECU assembly.

   2. Disconnect the P position switch (integration control and panel assembly) connector.

   3. 

      *a	Front view of wire harness connector (to Transmission Control ECU Assembly)
      *b	Front view of wire harness connector (to P Position Switch (Integration Control and Panel Assembly))

      Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance
      Tester Connection Switch Condition Specified Condition A25-20 (IND) - G1-7 (IND-) Power switch off Below 1 Ω

   4. Reconnect the P position switch (integration control and panel assembly) connector.

   5. Reconnect the transmission control ECU assembly connector.

      Result
