ION EXCHANGER INSTALLATION

PROCEDURE


  1. INSTALL FC COOLING WATER ION EXCHANGER BRACKET

    Tech Tips

    Only perform this procedure when replacement of the FC cooling water ion exchanger bracket is necessary.


    1. A01MI9SC01
      *a Detent Hole of the No. 3 Frame Crossmember Bracket Sub-assembly RH
      *b Detent of FC Cooling Water Ion Exchanger Bracket

      Install the FC cooling water ion exchanger bracket to the No. 3 frame crossmember bracket sub-assembly RH with the bolt.

      Torque:
      13 N*m  { 133 kgf*cm, 10 ft.*lbf }

      Note

      When installing, align the detent hole of the No. 3 frame crossmember bracket sub-assembly with the detent of the FC cooling water ion exchanger bracket.

  2. INSTALL FC COOLING WATER ION EXCHANGER ASSEMBLY


    1. A01MHKRC01
      *a Temporarily Tighten

      Install the FC cooling ion exchanger assembly to the vehicle with the 3 bolts in the sequence shown in the illustration.

      Torque:
      7.5 N*m  { 76 kgf*cm, 66 in.*lbf }
    2. To prevent contamination by foreign matter or water droplets, remove the plastic bags from the connecting portions of the FC cooling ion exchanger inlet hose and FC cooling ion exchanger assembly immediately before performing the procedure.

      *b Top of Vehicle
      *c FC Cooling Ion Exchanger Assembly Rib
      *d Hose Paint Mark (Yellow)
      *e Claw should be within this range (45°)

      Connect the FC cooling ion exchanger inlet hose to the FC cooling ion exchanger assembly and slide the hose clip to secure it.

      Note

      Align the hose and the hose clip at the locations shown in the illustration and install them.

      Tech Tips

      When connecting, if it is difficult to insert the FC cooling ion exchanger inlet hose, coat it with new coolant (Toyota genuine FC stack coolant).

    4. To prevent contamination by foreign matter or water droplets, remove the plastic bags from the connecting portions of the FC cooling ion exchanger outlet hose and FC cooling ion exchanger assembly immediately before performing the procedure.

      *a View A
      *b Top of Vehicle
      *c FC Cooling Ion Exchanger Assembly Rib
      *d Hose Paint Mark (White)
      *e Claw should be within this range (45°)

      Connect the FC cooling ion exchanger outlet hose to the FC cooling ion exchanger assembly and slide the hose clip to secure it.

      Note

      Align the hose and the hose clip at the locations shown in the illustration and install them.

      Tech Tips

      When connecting, if it is difficult to insert the FC cooling ion exchanger outlet hose, coat it with new coolant (Toyota genuine FC stack coolant).

    6. Engage the claw and close the clamp.

  3. INSTALL COOL AIR INTAKE DUCT SEAL

  5. INSPECT FOR COOLANT (FC STACK COOLANT) LEAK

  6. INSTALL SUSPENSION MEMBER TO FRONT CROSSMEMBER BRACE SUB-ASSEMBLY

  7. INSTALL FRONT FLOOR COVER RH

    Click here

  8. INSTALL FRONT FLOOR COVER LH

  9. INSTALL NO. 2 MOTOR UNDER COVER
