FC BOOST CONTROL SYSTEM DTC CHECK / CLEAR

  1. CHECK FOR DTCS

    1. Connect the GTS to the DLC3.

    2. Turn the power switch on (IG).

    3. Turn the GTS on.

    4. Enter the following menus: Powertrain / FCDC / Trouble Codes.

Powertrain > FCDC > Trouble Codes
    5. Check the details of the DTCs.

      Tech Tips

      Display Item Description
Current (Current DTC) DTCs that indicate malfunctions
      Pending (Pending DTC)
      • DTCs that indicate temporary malfunctions

      • Existence of malfunction has not been confirmed but there is a possibility

History (History DTC) DTCs that were stored in the past

      • A pending DTC is a DTC that is stored in the FC boost control ECU during the 1st trip when the 2 trip detection logic is used.

      • Both current (Current DTC) and Pending (Pending DTC) record freeze frame data.

      1. Enter the following menus: Powertrain / FCDC / Utility / Check Mode.

        Powertrain > FCDC > Utility
        Tester Display
        Check Mode
      2. Check items on the display and press "Next".

        Note

        • All the stored DTCs and freeze frame data are cleared if the FC boost control ECU is changed from normal mode to check mode. Before changing modes, always check and note any DTCs and freeze frame data.

        • Changing from normal mode to check mode function is not available when the power switch is turned on (READY).

        • After changing to check mode and turning the power switch on (READY), the air system component inspection of the FC system will be performed.

  2. CHECK FREEZE FRAME DATA AND INFORMATION

    1. If a DTC is stored, select it in order to display its freeze frame data.

    2. Read the freeze frame data recorded when the DTC was stored.

      Note

      • A 3-digit information code (INF code) will be displayed as the value for one of the Information 1 to Information 5 lines.

      • If a DTC is stored in the FC boost control ECU, then simultaneously the EV control ECU will store P1D01-450 and the FC control ECU will store P1D01-450. The freeze frame data accompanying these DTC records the ECU data from other systems at the time a malfunction occurs, so they are stored for reference.

  3. CHECK FOR DTCS (SYSTEMS EXCEPT FC BOOST CONTROL ECU)

    Tech Tips

The FC boost control ECU intercommunicates with the FC system, EV system, etc. For this reason, if a warning is output from the FC boost control ECU, check and record the DTCs from those systems.

    1. If DTCs are stored, check the relevant systems.

      Tech Tips

If DTCs for the CAN communication system are stored in addition to other DTCs, first troubleshoot and repair any malfunctions in the CAN communication system.

  4. CLEAR DTCS

    Note

Clearing the DTCs will also clear the freeze frame data, information.
