DESCRIPTION

If the fuel filler opening lid sub-assembly (hinge switch) signal indicates that the fuel lid is closed although the hydrogen tank internal pressure is increasing due to hydrogen filling, the hydrogen fuel control ECU assembly interprets it as a malfunction of the fuel filler opening lid sub-assembly (hinge switch) circuit, and sets this DTC.

Tech Tips

It is suspected that there is a GND short in the fuel filler opening lid sub-assembly (hinge switch) circuit, or the fuel filler opening lid sub-assembly (hinge switch) has stuck closed.

CAUTION / NOTICE / HINT

Note

When the vehicle is parked with the power switch off, if the FC control ECU judges that the FC stack temperature will go below 0°C (32°F), it activates the FC air compressor, hydrogen pump and FC cooling water pump for a maximum of 180 seconds and drains water from the FC stack assembly. When performing inspection or repairs with the power switch off (not on (IG) or on (READY)), disconnect the cable from the negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal before performing work (If the auxiliary battery voltage is needed to conduct inspection, warm up the FC system beforehand).

Tech Tips

After performing repairs, clear the DTCs, perform the following procedure, and then check the data list items "Fuel Lid Interlock SW".


  1. Turn the power switch off and press the fuel lid opener switch to unlock the fuel lid.

  2. Push the fuel lid to open it.

  3. Turn the power switch on (IG).

  4. By referring to the table below, check that the "Fuel Lid Interlock SW" of the data list turns ON or OFF in accordance with the fuel lid operation.

    1. Disconnect the hydrogen fuel control ECU assembly connector.

      Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
