FC CONTROL SYSTEM, Diagnostic DTC:P1E19-450

DTC Code DTC Name
P1E19-450 Infrared Transmitter Circuit

DESCRIPTION

The hydrogen fuel control transmitter is mounted on the receptacle bracket. The transmitter sends information such as the hydrogen tank capacity, tank internal hydrogen pressure and temperature to a hydrogen station through infrared communication channels (unidirectional communication).

The hydrogen fuel control ECU monitors accumulated actuation currents of the hydrogen fuel control transmitter to detect open circuits, and when the power source mode becomes on (IG) with the fuel lid open, the FC control ECU stores a DTC.

DTC No. Detection Item DTC Detection Condition Trouble Area Warning Indicate
P1E19-450 Infrared Transmitter Circuit While infrared communication signals are sent (the fuel lid is interpreted as it being open*), the transmitted current value that is accumulated for 110 seconds is less than 80 mA.
  • Hydrogen fuel control transmitter

  • Hydrogen fuel control ECU assembly

  • Wire harness or connector

Master Warning Light: Does not come on

*: If the fuel lid has remained open for more than 60 minutes, the hydrogen fuel control ECU will enter sleep mode, and the infrared signal transmission will also stop.

Tech Tips

It is suspected that the hydrogen fuel control transmitter or hydrogen fuel control ECU is malfunctioning, there is an open or short in the circuit, or a short in the +B circuit.

CAUTION / NOTICE / HINT

Note

When the vehicle is parked with the power switch off, if the FC control ECU judges that the FC stack temperature will go below 0°C (32°F), it activates the FC air compressor, hydrogen pump and FC cooling water pump for a maximum of 180 seconds and drains water from the FC stack assembly. When performing inspection or repairs with the power switch off (not on (IG) or on (READY)), disconnect the cable from the negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal before performing work (If the auxiliary battery voltage is needed to conduct inspection, warm up the FC system beforehand).

Tech Tips

After the repair, clear the DTCs and perform the following procedure to check that DTCs are not output.

  1. Turn the power switch off.

  2. Press the fuel lid opener switch.

  3. Fully open the fuel lid and wait for 2 minutes.

  4. With the fuel lid fully opened, turn the power switch on (IG).
