HEADLIGHT LEVELING SWITCH ON-VEHICLE INSPECTION

PROCEDURE


  1. INSPECT HEADLIGHT LEVELING SWITCH


    1. Remove the headlight leveling switch.

      (to Headlight Leveling Switch)

      Measure the resistance and voltage on the wire harness side connector according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      G36-5 (E) - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω
      Standard Voltage
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      G36-1 (B) - G36-5 (E) Light control switch head or headlight dimmer switch flash 11 to 14 V

      If the result is not as specified, repair or replace the wire harness or connector.

    3. Connect the connector.

    4. Turn the ignition switch to ON.

    5. Turn the light control switch head.

      Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      (3.5) 3.72 to 4.44 V
      4 2.76 to 3.48 V
      (4.5) 1.8 to 2.52 V
      5 0.84 to 1.56 V

      If the result is not as specified, replace the headlight leveling switch.
