Tech Tips


  • Use the same procedure for the RH and LH sides.

  • The procedure listed below is for the LH side.

  • Fully open the rear door glass sub-assembly LH before proceeding with work.

PROCEDURE


  1. PRECAUTION

    Note

    After turning the ignition switch off, waiting time may be required before disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal. Therefore, make sure to read the disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal notice before proceeding with work.

  2. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL

    Note

    When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected.

  3. REMOVE REAR DOOR FRAME GARNISH LH

      Detach the clip and claw and remove the rear door frame garnish LH.

  4. REMOVE REAR ARMREST ASSEMBLY LH

      Detach the clip and claw and remove the rear armrest assembly LH.

  5. REMOVE REAR POWER WINDOW REGULATOR SWITCH ASSEMBLY WITH REAR DOOR ARMREST BASE PANEL (w/ Power Window)

      Detach the clip and claw.

    2. Disconnect the connector and remove the rear power window regulator switch assembly with rear door armrest base panel.

  6. REMOVE REAR POWER WINDOW REGULATOR SWITCH ASSEMBLY (w/ Power Window)

  7. REMOVE REAR DOOR WINDOW REGULATOR HANDLE ASSEMBLY (w/o Power Window)

      Insert a clip remover between the plate and rear door trim board.

      Tech Tips

      Tape the clip remover tip before use.

    2. Turn the handle clockwise to remove the snap ring, rear door window regulator handle assembly and plate.

  8. REMOVE REAR DOOR INSIDE HANDLE BEZEL PLUG LH

      Using moulding remover A, detach the claw and remove the rear door inside handle bezel plug LH as shown in the illustration.

  9. REMOVE REAR DOOR TRIM BOARD SUB-ASSEMBLY LH

      Remove the 3 screws.

      Detach the clip as shown in the illustration.

      Detach the guide and remove the rear door trim board sub-assembly LH as shown in the illustration.

      Detach the clamp and disconnect the rear door lock remote control cable assembly LH and rear door inside looking cable assembly LH as shown in the illustration.

  10. REMOVE REAR DOOR INSIDE HANDLE SUB-ASSEMBLY LH

      Detach the claw and guide and remove the rear door inside handle sub-assembly LH.

  11. REMOVE REAR DOOR INNER GLASS WEATHERSTRIP LH

      Raise the claw of the rear door inner glass weatherstrip LH as shown in the illustration, and then remove the rear door inner glass weatherstrip LH from the rear door trim board sub-assembly LH.

  12. REMOVE REAR SPEAKER ASSEMBLY

  13. REMOVE REAR DOOR SERVICE HOLE COVER LH

      B0024II Butyl Tape

      Detach the clamp.

    2. Pull out the rear door lock remote control cable assembly LH, rear door inside locking cable assembly LH and wire harness from the rear door service hole cover LH, and then remove the rear door service hole cover LH.

      Note

      Remove any remaining butyl tape from the rear door panel.

  14. REMOVE SCREW GROMMET

      Using a clip remover, detach the claw and remove the 2 screw grommets.

  15. REMOVE REAR DOOR GLASS RUN LH

      Detach the guide and remove the rear door glass run LH.

  16. REMOVE REAR DOOR WINDOW DIVISION BAR SUB-ASSEMBLY LH

      Lift up the rear door weatherstrip LH and remove the screw.

    2. Remove the 2 bolts and rear door window division bar sub-assembly LH.

  17. REMOVE REAR DOOR GLASS SUB-ASSEMBLY LH

      Remove the rear door glass sub-assembly LH from the rear door window regulator sub-assembly LH as shown in the illustration.

      B0068NX Remove in this Direction (2)

      Remove the rear door glass sub-assembly LH as indicated by the arrows in the order shown in the illustration.

      Note

      Be careful not to damage the rear door glass sub-assembly LH.

  18. REMOVE REAR DOOR BELT MOULDING ASSEMBLY LH

  19. REMOVE REAR DOOR QUARTER WINDOW GLASS LH

      Remove the rear door quarter window glass LH together with the rear door quarter window weatherstrip LH.

  20. REMOVE REAR DOOR QUARTER WINDOW WEATHERSTRIP LH

      Remove the rear door quarter window weatherstrip LH from the rear door quarter window glass LH.

  21. REMOVE REAR DOOR WINDOW REGULATOR SUB-ASSEMBLY LH


    1. w/ Power Window:

      Disconnect the connector.

    2. Loosen the temporarily bolt.

      Note

      Do not remove the temporarily bolt. If the temporarily bolt is removed, the rear door window regulator sub-assembly LH may fall and become damaged.

    3. w/ Power Window:

      Remove the 3 bolts and rear door window regulator sub-assembly LH.

    4. w/o Power Window:

      Remove the 2 bolts and rear door window regulator sub-assembly LH.

    5. Remove the temporarily bolt from the rear door window regulator sub-assembly LH.

      Using a T30 "TORX" socket wrench, loosen the screw.

    2. Detach the grommet and guide and remove the rear door outside handle frame sub-assembly LH.

  34. REMOVE REAR DOOR PANEL CUSHION

      Detach the claw and remove the rear door panel cushion.

  35. REMOVE REAR DOOR CHECK ASSEMBLY LH

      Remove the 2 bolts (A), bolt (B) and rear door check assembly LH.

  36. REMOVE REAR DOOR WEATHERSTRIP LH

      Using a clip remover, detach the clip and remove the rear door weatherstrip LH.

  37. REMOVE REAR DOOR DUST PROOF SEAL

      Detach the claw and remove the 3 rear door dust proof seals.

  38. REMOVE NO. 2 BLACK OUT TAPE LH (w/ Black Out Tape)
