QUARTER WINDOW GLASS(for Smart Cab) INSTALLATION

Tech Tips


  • Use the same procedure for the RH and LH sides.

  • The procedure listed below is for the LH side.

PROCEDURE


  1. INSTALL FRONT QUARTER WINDOW WEATHERSTRIP LH


    1. Apply Primer G to the front quarter window weather strip LH installation area on the quarter window glass LH.

      Note

      Do not apply too much Primer G.

    2. When removing the peeling paper of a new front quarter window weather strip LH, make sure that it does not contact the adhesive surface.

      Note

      Install the front quarter window weather strip LH after Primer G has been allowed to dry (approximately 3 min).

    3. Install the front quarter window weather strip LH to the quarter window glass LH in the location shown in the illustration.

  2. INSTALL QUARTER WINDOW WEATHERSTRIP LH

  3. INSTALL QUARTER WINDOW HINGE LH


    1. B002470C01
      *1 Quarter Window Hinge LH
      *2 Bush
      *3 Quarter Window hinge Retainer
      *4 Washer
      *5 Screw

      Clean the threads of the 2 quarter window hinge retainers with non-residue solvent.

    2. Install the 2 new quarter window hinge LH, 2 quarter window hinge retainers, 2 bushes and 2 washers with the 2 new screws.

      Torque:
      2.5 N*m  { 25 kgf*cm, 22 in.*lbf }

  4. INSTALL QUARTER WINDOW LOCK ASSEMBLY LH


    1. B0025GWC01
      *1 Quarter Window Hinge Retainer LH
      *2 Bush
      *3 Screw

      Clean the threads of the 2 quarter window hinge retainer hinge LH with non-residue solvent.

    2. Install the quarter window lock assembly LH, quarter window hinge retainer LH and bush with the new screw.

      Torque:
      2.0 N*m  { 20 kgf*cm, 18 in.*lbf }

  5. INSTALL NO. 2 QUARTER WINDOW GLASS SPACER


    1. Apply Primer G to the No. 2 quarter window glass spacer installation area on the quarter window glass LH.

      Note

      Do not apply too much Primer G.

    2. When removing the peeling paper of a new No. 2 quarter window glass spacer LH, make sure that it does not contact the adhesive surface.

      Note

      Install the front quarter window weather strip LH after Primer G has been allowed to dry (approximately 3 min).

    3. Install the No. 2 quarter window glass spacer LH to the quarter window glass LH in the location shown in the illustration.

  6. INSTALL QUARTER WINDOW GLASS LH

      *a Nut
      *b Bolt

      Temporarily install the 2 nuts, 2 bolts and the quarter window glass LH.

      Note

      Install the quarter window glass LH with the quarter window lock released.

    2. Tighten the 2 nuts and 2 bolts in the order shown in the illustration.

      Torque:
      for Nut
      5.5 N*m  { 56 kgf*cm, 49 in.*lbf }
      for Bolt
      5.5 N*m  { 56 kgf*cm, 49 in.*lbf }

  7. CHECK FOR LEAKS

  8. INSTALL REAR DOOR FRAME GARNISH LH

  9. INSTALL FRONT SEAT OUTER BELT ASSEMBLY LH (for Shoulder Anchor)


    1. B0024ID

      Install the bolt and connect the shoulder anchor of the front seat outer belt assembly LH.

      Torque:
      42 N*m  { 428 kgf*cm, 31 ft.*lbf }

    2. Check that the ELR locks.

      Note

      The check should be performed with the front seat outer belt assembly LH installed.


      1. With the belt assembly installed, check that the belt locks when it is pulled out quickly.

  10. INSTALL SEAT BELT ANCHOR COVER CAP
