POWER WINDOW CONTROL SYSTEM Jam Protection Function does not Operate

DESCRIPTION

This symptom may occur for any of the windows.

The jam protection function operates within a specified range during the manual up or auto up operation.

Note


  • If a power window regulator motor assembly has been replaced with a new one, initialize the power window control system.

  • If the pulse sensor built into the power window regulator motor assemblies is malfunctioning, the power window control system enters fail-safe mode. The jam protection function cannot be operated during fail-safe mode.

  • After the jam protection function operates when an auto up or manual up operation is performed, the jam protection function will not operate when the manual up operation is performed again within approximately 4 seconds.

  • After the catch protection function operates when an auto down or manual down operation is performed, the jam protection function will not operate when the manual down operation is performed.

  1. PERFORM INITIALIZATION (APPLICABLE LOCATION)


    1. Initialize the power window regulator motor assembly (applicable location).

    1. Check if the power window auto up and down function operates normally.

      Tech Tips

      The jam protection function will not operate within 4 mm (0.157 in.) of the fully closed position.
