UPPER INSTRUMENT PANEL INSTALLATION

Tech Tips


  • Use the same procedure for RHD and LHD vehicles.

  • The procedure listed below is for LHD vehicles.

  • A bolt without a torque specification is shown in the standard bolt chart.

PROCEDURE


  1. INSTALL UPPER INSTRUMENT PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY


    1. Attach the guide to install the upper instrument panel sub-assembly.

    2. Attach the clip as shown in the illustration.

    3. w/ Front Passenger Airbag:


      1. Install the passenger airbag installation bolt <C>.

        Torque:
        16 N*m  { 163 kgf*cm, 12 ft.*lbf }

    4. Install the 2 clips <B>.

    5. Connect the connector and attach the clamp.

      *c Connector *d Passenger Airbag Connector

    6. w/ Front Passenger Airbag:


      1. B0024FZC03
        *a Lock Slider
        *b Lock Position

        Connect the passenger airbag connector.

        Note

        When handling the passenger airbag connector, take care not to damage the airbag wire harness.

      2. Check that the lock slider is in the lock position.

  2. INSTALL FRONT PILLAR GARNISH LH

      Attach the guide and clip to install the front pillar garnish LH as shown in the illustration.

      *1 Front Door Opening Trim Weatherstrip LH

      Connect the front door opening trim weatherstrip LH in the range shown in the illustration.

  3. INSTALL FRONT PILLAR GARNISH RH

      B0069FO Install in this Direction (1)
      B0068NX Install in this Direction (2)

      Attach the guide and clip to install the front pillar garnish RH as shown in the illustration.

    2. B0026J7C01
      *1 Front Door Opening Trim Weatherstrip RH

      Connect the front door opening trim weatherstrip RH in the range shown in the illustration.

  4. INSTALL ASSIST GRIP SUB-ASSEMBLY (w/ Assist Grip)

    Tech Tips

    Use the same procedure for both assist grip sub-assemblies.

      Install the assist grip sub-assembly with the 2 bolts.

      Attach the claw to close the assist grip covers.

  5. INSTALL INSTRUMENT SIDE PANEL RH


    1. w/ Airbag Cut Off Switch:

      Connect the connector.

      Attach the guide as shown in the illustration.

      Attach the claw and clip to install the instrument side panel RH as shown in the illustration.

      *1 Front Door Opening Trim Weatherstrip RH

      Connect the front door opening trim weatherstrip RH in the range shown in the illustration.

  6. INSTALL COWL SIDE TRIM BOARD RH

      *a Cap Nut
      B0069FO Install in this Direction

      Attach the clip to install the cowl side trim board RH as shown in the illustration.

    2. Install the cap nut.

  7. INSTALL FRONT DOOR SCUFF PLATE RH


    1. for Double Cab:

  8. INSTALL NO. 2 INSTRUMENT PANEL REGISTER ASSEMBLY

  9. INSTALL NO. 1 INSTRUMENT PANEL BOX DOOR SUB-ASSEMBLY

      Attach the clip and guide to install the No. 1 instrument panel box door sub-assembly as shown in the illustration.

  10. INSTALL INSTRUMENT CLUSTER FINISH PANEL GARNISH ASSEMBLY


    1. Attach the clip to install the instrument cluster finish panel garnish assembly as shown in the illustration.

      Tech Tips


      • Attach the clips in the order shown in the illustration.

      • There is no installation order for clip A shown in the illustration.

      Attach the clip to install the cowl side trim board LH as shown in the illustration.

    2. Install the cap nut.

    When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected.
