THEFT DETERRENT SYSTEM Unlock Warning Switch Circuit

DESCRIPTION

The unlock warning switch assembly comes on when the ignition key is inserted into the ignition key cylinder and goes off when the ignition key is removed.

  • Inspect the fuses for circuits related to this system before performing the following procedure.

  • w/ Door Control Battery:

    As the door control battery is installed between the vehicle battery and body ECU, first perform the inspections to confirm that there are no malfunctions in the power source circuit for the body ECU before performing this troubleshooting procedure.

    If the body ECU has been replaced, it is necessary to initialize the body ECU.

PROCEDURE


  1. INSPECT UNLOCK WARNING SWITCH ASSEMBLY


    1. Remove the unlock warning switch assembly.

    2. Inspect the unlock warning switch assembly.

  2. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (UNLOCK WARNING SWITCH ASSEMBLY - BODY ECU AND BODY GROUND)


    1. Disconnect the G27 body ECU connector.

    2. Disconnect the G2 unlock warning switch assembly connector.

    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      G27-8 (KSW) - G2-1 Always Below 1 Ω
      G27-8 (KSW) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      G2-1 - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      G2-2 - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω
