DESCRIPTION

The certification ECU intermittently monitors the LIN communication bus between the components related to certification. DTC B2785 is stored when a malfunction in the LIN communication bus between the components related to certification is detected 3 times consecutively.

Note


  • When using the GTS with the ignition switch off to troubleshoot:

    Connect the GTS to the vehicle, and turn a courtesy light switch on and off at 1.5 second intervals until communication between the GTS and vehicle begins.

  • If the certification ECU (smart key ECU assembly) or steering lock actuator or upper bracket assembly is replaced, refer to the Service Bulletin.

  3. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (CERTIFICATION ECU [SMART KEY ECU ASSEMBLY] - STEERING LOCK ACTUATOR OR UPPER BRACKET ASSEMBLY OR ID CODE BOX)


    1. Disconnect the G69 certification ECU (smart key ECU assembly) connector.

    2. w/ ID Code Box (Immobiliser Code ECU):

      Disconnect the G82 ID code box (immobiliser code ECU) connector.

    3. Disconnect the G71 steering lock actuator or upper bracket assembly connector.

    4. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      G69-5 (LIN) - G71-5 (LIN) Always Below 1 Ω
      G69-5 (LIN) - G82-2 (LIN1) Always Below 1 Ω
      G69-5 (LIN) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
