DESCRIPTION

The ECM and generator assembly each detect reception malfunctions. A generator assembly reception malfunction detected by the generator assembly is sent to the ECM via LIN communication. If there is a malfunction in either the ECM or generator assembly, the ECM determines that there is a LIN communication malfunction and outputs a DTC.

Diagnosis condition:


  • Ignition switch ON

Malfunction status:


  • When the ECM cannot receive LIN communication, the generator assembly cannot receive LIN communication for approximately 17 minutes or more.

    1. Check the charging system.

    REPAIR OR REPLACE CHARGING SYSTEM

  2. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (ECM - GENERATOR ASSEMBLY)


    1. Disconnect the C60 ECM connector.

    2. Disconnect the C8 generator assembly connector.

    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      C60-7 (LIN) - C8-2 (LIN) Always Below 1 Ω
      C60-7 (LIN) or C8-2 (LIN) - Body ground

      Ignition switch off

      (while LIN communication is stopped)

      		 10 kΩ or higher
