REAR LEAF SPRING(for 2WD) INSTALLATION

PROCEDURE


  1. INSTALL REAR SPRING ASSEMBLY LH


    1. Install the rear spring assembly LH to the vehicle body.

  2. INSTALL REAR UPPER SPRING SHACKLE BUSH


    1. Install 2 new rear upper spring shackle bushes to the vehicle frame.

  3. INSTALL NO. 2 SPRING SHACKLE SUB-ASSEMBLY


    1. Install the No. 2 rear spring shackle sub-assembly to the rear spring assembly LH and vehicle body.

  4. TEMPORARILY INSTALL SPRING SHACKLE INNER PLATE


    1. A01LD5JC01
      *a Bottom of Vehicle

      Temporarily install the spring shackle inner plate to the No. 2 rear spring shackle sub-assembly with the 2 washers and 2 nuts shown in the illustration.

      Tech Tips

      After stabilizing the suspension, tighten the nuts.

  5. TEMPORARILY INSTALL PIN BOLT (except Single Cab)


    1. Temporarily install the pin bolt with the washer and nut.

      Tech Tips

      After stabilizing the suspension, tighten the nut.

  6. TEMPORARILY INSTALL REAR SPRING BRACKET PIN SUB-ASSEMBLY (for Single Cab)


    1. Temporarily install the rear spring bracket pin sub-assembly with the washer and nut.

    2. Temporarily install the set bolt.

      Tech Tips

      After stabilizing the suspension, tighten the nut.

  7. TEMPORARILY INSTALL REAR SPRING U BOLT


    1. Temporarily install the 2 rear spring U bolts and U bolt seat with the 4 washers and 4 nuts.

      Tech Tips

      When tightening the U bolts, tighten the nuts in diagonal pairs.

  8. INSTALL REAR SPRING BUMPER


    1. Install the rear spring bumper with the 2 bolts.

  9. INSTALL REAR SHOCK ABSORBER ASSEMBLY LH

  10. CONNECT NO. 3 PARKING BRAKE CABLE ASSEMBLY


    1. Connect the No. 3 parking brake cable assembly with the bolt.

      Torque:
      14 N*m  { 143 kgf*cm, 10 ft.*lbf }

  11. STABILIZE SUSPENSION

  12. TIGHTEN SPRING SHACKLE INNER PLATE


    1. Tighten the 2 nuts.

      Torque:
      60 N*m  { 612 kgf*cm, 44 ft.*lbf }

  13. TIGHTEN PIN BOLT (except Single Cab)


    1. Tighten the pin nut.

      Torque:
      120 N*m  { 1224 kgf*cm, 89 ft.*lbf }

  14. TIGHTEN REAR SPRING BRACKET PIN SUB-ASSEMBLY (for Single Cab)


    1. Tighten the pin nut.

      Torque:
      125 N*m  { 1275 kgf*cm, 92 ft.*lbf }

    2. Tighten the set bolt.

      Torque:
      25 N*m  { 255 kgf*cm, 18 ft.*lbf }

  15. TIGHTEN SPRING U BOLT SEAT SUB-ASSEMBLY LH


    1. Tighten the 4 nuts.

      Torque:
      68 N*m  { 693 kgf*cm, 50 ft.*lbf }

  16. INSTALL REAR WHEEL
