FRONT UPPER SUSPENSION ARM(for 2WD) INSTALLATION

Tech Tips


  • Use the same procedure for the RH and LH sides.

  • The procedure listed below is for the LH side.

PROCEDURE


  1. INSTALL FRONT UPPER BALL JOINT

      Using SST and a press, press in a new front upper ball joint.

    2. Using a snap ring expander, install a new snap ring.

      Note

      Make sure the snap ring is securely installed in the groove.

  2. INSTALL UPPER BALL JOINT DUST COVER


    1. B00691NC13
      *a MP Grease

      Pack the upper ball joint with MP grease.

      Grease capacity
      8.0 g (0.282 oz.)
    2. Apply MP grease to the locations shown in the illustration.

      Note

      Do not apply MP grease to the tapered or threaded parts of the upper ball joint.

    3. Install a new upper ball joint dust cover to the front upper suspension arm assembly LH.

    4. Install a new dust cover set ring.

  3. INSTALL FRONT UPPER SUSPENSION ARM BUSH LH


    1. B0068QQN01

      Using SST and a press, press in a new front upper suspension arm bush LH.

  4. TEMPORARILY INSTALL FRONT UPPER SUSPENSION ARM ASSEMBLY LH

    1. Temporarily install the front upper suspension arm assembly LH with the 2 bolts and 2 nuts.

      Tech Tips

      Fix the nuts in place and temporarily install the bolts.

    2. Install the front upper suspension arm assembly LH to the front axle with the nut.

      Torque:
      110 N*m  { 1122 kgf*cm, 81 ft.*lbf }
    3. Install a new clip.

  5. CONNECT FRONT FLEXIBLE HOSE

  6. INSTALL FRONT WHEEL

  7. STABILIZE SUSPENSION

    Click here

  8. TIGHTEN FRONT UPPER SUSPENSION ARM ASSEMBLY LH


    1. Tighten the 2 bolts of the front upper suspension arm assembly LH.

      Torque:
      85 N*m  { 867 kgf*cm, 63 ft.*lbf }

      Note

      Do not tighten the nut.

  9. INSPECT AND ADJUST FRONT WHEEL ALIGNMENT
