FRONT DIFFERENTIAL SIDE GEAR SHAFT OIL SEAL REPLACEMENT

PROCEDURE


  1. REMOVE NO. 1 ENGINE UNDER COVER

  2. REMOVE NO. 2 ENGINE UNDER COVER

    Click here

  3. DRAIN DIFFERENTIAL OIL

    Click here

  4. REMOVE FRONT DRIVE SHAFT ASSEMBLY LH

    Click here

  5. REMOVE FRONT DRIVE SHAFT ASSEMBLY RH

    Tech Tips

    Use the same procedure described for the LH side.

  6. REMOVE DIFFERENTIAL SIDE GEAR SHAFT OIL SEAL

      Using SST, tap out the 2 differential side gear shaft oil seals.

  7. INSTALL DIFFERENTIAL SIDE GEAR SHAFT OIL SEAL


    1. Using SST and a hammer, tap in 2 new differential side gear shaft oil seals.

      SST
      09223-15020   ( 09951-07100 )
      Standard oil seal gap
      0 to 0.14 mm (0 to 0.00511 in.)

      *1 Differential Carrier *2 Differential Side Gear Shaft Oil Seal
      *3 Differential Tube - -
      *a for LH Side *b for RH Side
      *c Gap - -

      Note


      • Make sure the LH and RH differential side gear shaft oil seals are installed to the proper locations.

      • Make sure that the lip of the differential side gear shaft oil seal is inserted into SST before tapping in the differential side gear shaft oil seal.

      • Do not damage the differential side gear shaft oil seals.
