DESCRIPTION

This DTC is output when a malfunction is detected due to a short to ground occurring in the differential lock coil drive circuit of the rear differential.

  • Diagnosis Condition: Directly after ignition switch is turned to ON, or when rear differential is switched between free and locked (differential lock coil operating) with ignition switch turned to ON

  • Malfunction Status: Short to ground in differential lock coil drive circuit

  • Malfunction Time: 0.05 seconds or more

  • Other: 1 trip detection logic

  • Wire harness and connector

  • 4 wheel drive control ECU

  • Differential lock coil

  1. Click here

    CHECK DIFFERENTIAL LOCK COIL


    1. Disconnect the C40 4 wheel drive control ECU connector.

      Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      C40-1 (SL+) or C40-5 (SL-) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

  2. Click here

    CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (4 WHEEL DRIVE CONTROL ECU - DIFFERENTIAL LOCK COIL)


    1. Disconnect the C40 4 wheel drive control ECU connector.

    2. Disconnect the F1 differential lock coil connector.

    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      C40-1 (SL+) or F1-2 (M1) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      C40-5 (SL-) or F1-1 (M2) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
