REAR AXLE SHAFT INSTALLATION

Tech Tips


  • Use the same procedure for the RH and LH sides.

  • The procedure listed below is for the LH side.

PROCEDURE


  1. INSTALL REAR AXLE SHAFT OIL SEAL LH

    B0025MON01

    1. Using SST and a hammer, tap in a new rear axle shaft oil seal LH.

      SST
      09950-60020   ( 09951-00770 )
      09950-70010   ( 09951-07150 )

  2. INSTALL REAR AXLE BEARING CASE O-RING LH


    1. Install a new O-ring to the rear axle housing.

  3. INSTALL REAR AXLE SHAFT WITH BACKING PLATE

    B0027SU

    1. Install the rear axle shaft with backing plate with the 4 nuts.

      Torque:
      43 N*m  { 438 kgf*cm, 32 ft.*lbf }

  4. CONNECT PARKING BRAKE CABLE


    1. Connect the parking brake cable with the 2 bolts.

      Torque:
      9.0 N*m  { 92 kgf*cm, 80 in.*lbf }

  5. INSTALL REAR SPEED SENSOR LH (w/ ABS)

  6. INSTALL REAR BRAKE

  7. INSTALL REAR WHEEL

    Click here

  8. ADJUST PARKING BRAKE

    Click here

  9. CHECK SPEED SENSOR SIGNAL (w/ ABS)
