PROPELLER SHAFT ASSEMBLY(for TMT Made) REMOVAL

PROCEDURE


  1. REMOVE PROPELLER SHAFT GUARD


    1. for 2WD and Pre-Runner:


      1. A01LCMX

        for Transmission side:

        Remove the 2 bolts and propeller shaft guard.

      2. A01LBCV

        for Center support bearing side:

        Remove the 2 bolts and propeller shaft guard.

    2. for 4WD:


      1. A01LA1E

        for Transfer side:

        Remove the 2 bolts and propeller shaft guard.

      2. A01LAV8

        for Center support bearing side:

        Remove the 2 bolts and propeller shaft guard.

  2. REMOVE PROPELLER SHAFT WITH CENTER BEARING ASSEMBLY (for 2WD and Pre-Runner)


    1. A01SDEJC01
      *a Matchmark

      Place matchmarks on the propeller shaft flange and differential flange.

    2. A01SBVEC01
      *a Matchmark

      for RC60, RC61:

      Place matchmarks on the propeller shaft flange, differential torsional damper and differential flange.

    3. for Differential Type BD20:

      Remove the 4 nuts, 4 bolts and 4 washers and disconnect the propeller shaft.

    4. for Differential Type BD22:

      Remove the 4 nuts and 4 washers and disconnect the propeller shaft.

    5. A01LD93

      Remove the 2 set bolts of the center support bearing from the frame crossmember.

    6. Pull out the propeller shaft with center bearing assembly.

      Note

      When pulling out the propeller shaft, make sure that transmission fluid does not leak from the extension housing.

      Tech Tips

      Transmission fluid may leak from the extension housing there fore, use a container to catch the fluid.

    7. A01SAVL

      for RC60, RC61:

      Remove the differential torsional damper.

  3. REMOVE PROPELLER SHAFT WITH CENTER BEARING ASSEMBLY (for 4WD)

      *a Matchmark

      Place matchmarks on the propeller shaft flange and transfer flange.

    2. Remove the 4 nuts and 4 washers and disconnect the propeller shaft.

    3. A01SDJOC01
      *a Matchmark

      Place matchmarks on the propeller shaft flange and differential flange.

    4. Remove the 4 nuts and 4 washers.

    5. A01LD93

      Remove the 2 set bolts of the center No. 1 support bearing assembly from the frame crossmember.

    6. Remove the propeller shaft with center bearing assembly.
