DESCRIPTION

This DTC is output when a malfunction in the L4 detection switch is detected.

  • Diagnosis Condition: Ignition switch turned to ON (3 seconds elapse after ignition switch is turned to ON)

  • Malfunction Status: L4 detection switch is stuck OFF when the vehicle is in L4

  • Malfunction Time: 10 seconds or more

  • Other: 1 trip detection logic

  • Wire harness and connector

  • 4 wheel drive control ECU

  • Transfer shift actuator assembly

PROCEDURE


  1. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (4 WHEEL DRIVE CONTROL ECU - TRANSFER SHIFT ACTUATOR ASSEMBLY)


    1. Disconnect the C39 4 wheel drive control ECU connector.

    2. Disconnect the C41 transfer shift actuator assembly connector.

    3. w/o VSC:

      Disconnect the A3 skid control ECU (brake actuator assembly) connector.

      w/ VSC:

      Disconnect the A4 skid control ECU (brake actuator assembly) connector.

    4. for 1GD-FTV, 2GD-FTV:

      Disconnect the C60 ECM connector.

      for 1GR-FE:

      Disconnect the G87 ECM connector.

      for 2TR-FE:

      Disconnect the G46 ECM connector.

      for 1KD-FTV (Automatic Transmission):

      Disconnect the G89 TCM connector.

    5. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      C39-3 (4WDL) - C41-9 (L4) Always Below 1 Ω
      C41-10 (GND) - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω
      C39-3 (4WDL) or C41-9 (L4) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

  2. CHECK TRANSFER SHIFT ACTUATOR ASSEMBLY


    1. Turn the ignition switch to ON.

    2. Turn the transfer position switch to L4.

    3. Turn the ignition switch off.

    4. Disconnect the C41 transfer shift actuator assembly connector.
