MANUAL TRANSMISSION SYSTEM ROAD TEST


  1. ROAD TEST


    1. Check for DTCs.

      Powertrain > Engine and ECT > Trouble Codes

      Tech Tips

      When DTCs are output, perform troubleshooting for each DTC.

    2. Turn the iMT switch on and off and check that the iMT indicator light illuminates and turns off.

      If the iMT indicator light does not illuminate, refer to the troubleshooting procedure for "iMT indicator light does not illuminate".

    3. Perform a road test.

      CAUTION:

      When performing the confirmation driving pattern, obey all speed limits and traffic laws.

      • Perform this procedure with the iMT indicator light illuminated.

      • Make sure to securely depress the clutch pedal.


      1. Connect the GTS to the DLC3.

      2. Turn the ignition switch to ON.

      3. Turn the GTS on.

      4. Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Engine and ECT / Data List.

      5. According to the display on the GTS, read the Data List.

        Engine Speed Engine speed

        Min.: 0 rpm

        Max.: 16383 rpm

        710 to 810 rpm: Idling When the crankshaft position sensor is malfunctioning, "Engine Speed" is approximately 0 rpm or varies greatly from the actual engine speed.

      6. Drive the vehicle in 3rd gear with the engine speed at 2000 rpm.

      7. Fully depress the clutch pedal (and leave it depressed).

      8. Immediately downshift to 2nd gear.

      9. After the clutch is not engaged for 2 seconds, check the engine speed.
