FRONT BRAKE(for 4WD and Pre-Runner) REASSEMBLY

Tech Tips


  • Use the same procedure for the RH and LH sides.

  • The procedure listed below is for the LH side.

PROCEDURE


  1. TEMPORARILY INSTALL FRONT DISC BRAKE BLEEDER PLUG


    1. Temporarily install the front disc brake bleeder plug to the disc brake cylinder assembly LH.

      Tech Tips

      The front disc brake bleeder plug will be tightened to a torque specification in the "Bleed Brake Line" procedures.

  2. INSTALL FRONT DISC BRAKE BLEEDER PLUG CAP

  3. INSTALL PISTON SEAL

      B00692L Lithium soap base glycol grease

      Apply a light coat of lithium soap base glycol grease to 4 new piston seals.

    2. Install the 4 piston seals to the disc brake cylinder assembly LH.

      Note

      Securely install the piston seal into the groove of the disc brake cylinder assembly LH.

  4. INSTALL FRONT DISC BRAKE PISTON


    1. A01L9LPC01
      *1 Cylinder Boot
      *2 Front Disc Brake Piston
      B00692L Lithium soap base glycol grease

      Apply a light coat of lithium soap base glycol grease to the entire inner circumference of 4 new cylinder boots, and the entire circumference of the top and bottom of the outer edge as shown in the illustration.

    2. Apply a light coat of lithium soap base glycol grease to the entire outer circumference of the 4 front disc brake pistons where they contact the cylinder boots and disc brake cylinder assembly LH.

    3. Install the 4 cylinder boots to the 4 front disc brake pistons.

    4. Install the 4 front disc brake pistons to the disc brake cylinder assembly LH.

      Note

      Do not forcibly install the front disc brake pistons to the disc brake cylinder assembly LH.

  5. INSTALL CYLINDER BOOT

    A01LC3EC01
    *1 Cylinder Boot
    *2 Set Ring
    *3 Front Disc Brake Piston

    1. Install one side of each of the 4 cylinder boots to the disc brake cylinder assembly LH.

      Note

      Install the cylinder boot securely into the grooves of the disc brake cylinder assembly LH and front disc brake piston.

    2. Using a screwdriver, install the 4 new set rings.

      Note

      Do not damage the cylinder boot.
