FORWARD RECOGNITION CAMERA SYSTEM TERMINALS OF ECU

  1. CHECK FORWARD RECOGNITION CAMERA

    Note

    • DTCs may be output when connectors are disconnected during inspection. Therefore, be sure to clear the DTCs using the GTS once the inspection has been completed.

    • Do not apply excessive force to the Q4 forward recognition camera connector.

    1. Disconnect the Q4 forward recognition camera connector.

    2. Measure the voltage and resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

Terminal No. (Symbol) Wiring Color Terminal Description Condition Specified Condition
      Q4-7 (IGB) - Q4-10 (GND) V - B Power source Ignition switch ON 11 to 14 V
Ignition switch off Below 1 V
      Q4-10 (GND) - Body ground B - Body ground Ground Always Below 1 Ω
    3. Reconnect the Q4 forward recognition camera connector.

    4. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

Terminal No. (Symbol) Wiring Color Terminal Description Condition Specified Condition
Q4-1 (HTR) - Q4-10 (GND)* BR - B Pre-crash safety city heater Ignition switch ON, and the pre-crash safety city heater operating 0 to 1.5 V
Ignition switch ON, and the pre-crash safety city heater not operating 11 to 14 V
Q4-8 (BZ) - Q4-10 (GND) R - B Skid control buzzer Ignition switch ON, and the skid control buzzer operating 0 to 1.5 V
Ignition switch ON, and the skid control buzzer not operating 11 to 14 V

    5. Check for pulses according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Tech Tips

If the waveform is not similar to that shown in the illustration, a malfunction of a CAN bus line, terminating resistor, or the forward recognition camera is suspected.

Terminal No. (Symbol) Wiring Color Terminal Description Condition Specified Condition
      Q4-5 (CA1P) - Q4-10 (GND) B - B CAN communication signal Ignition switch ON
